RUN!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!! DO NOT USE THAT PRE-GROMMETTED BANNER MATERIAL!!! Heads are $895 each!!! ...which would buy a LOT of banner material.
The SP540V is the only SP series with low/high head height.
Get the XC... and you can get an extended warranty if you need peace of mind. A laminator is around $2500 and can be purchased as you get the customer base. Both printers can be setup to print white if you need, but the 6 color is always king for quality.
You will not have any issues with the Full Width Scan setting disabled... We set all our new machines to disable. The Max ink dries quickly compared to the older inks (which needed extra dry time)...and no issues for the printer's longevity.
If you can't get it, give me a call, there can be several issues that give the motor error message...do some homework before you spend $$$ for a new motor that may not fix the issue and the motor cannot be returned.
Did you get the NEW style pump u[grade? If not...check the pump, if you see any ink around the gear area then you have a bad pump. Replace with the new style (+kit) and you won't have any further pump issues...the new style lasts a very long time. I believe the pump is about $80 +kit. You MUST...
#1 ....Unplug
#2 Switch ribbon cables
#3 Plug electrical back in and see if the head prints... if it does then you have electrical or ribbon issues, if it doesn't print..you have a bad head ($895 + labor)
Does the line appear on all files, or just this one? If the line is from top to bottom it may be simply a dirty encoder strip...clean with alcohol only and it should go away. If it's a head issue (dirty, damaged, etc...) the line will be side to side.
Replace the caps... you have the "foam" portion touching the head as it sits capped up, this results in a slow drain from the full cartridge, past the pump, and to the waste container.
The sensor check simply checks that the sensors are working properly. You can check (ie) the front cover sensor by opening the cover and seeing the sensor indicator light up.
1. Replace the caps ($25 each)
2. Do a power clean, or (best) use a syringe to pull ink from the new cap tops with heads seated.
3. use swabs to clean the heads if the syringe doesn't work.
4. Last, if all else fails.... replace the head
You MUST get the parameters from the old board first. You can use the PECK tool to do this easily. Make sure the DIP Switches are set correctly. Don't forget the battery from the old board. You may want to print out a report so you can have the information if you don't have the PECK Tool...you...
!. Have you done a Print/Cut Adjustment?
2. Do the Crop Adjust as this is linked with the print/cut.
3. Check the cable tension - there is a specific tension, but you can tell if it's way too loose...over tightening will not help either.
4. Do an Environmental Match to help hold the info.

The old EcoSol is nolonger available. Flexi 7.5 dumps quite a lot of ink on the prints, but Flexi has profiles for the Roland Printers (not sure about the SC540). If you did not align the heads this is a lot of your problem(s) with quality. Yes, download the service manual and follow the...
Your printer was designed to use the old EcoSol ink - slower drying - the EcoSol Max doesn't work well with your printer, but you can get acceptable prints. Are you printing from ColorRipi? It is possible to upgrade to VersaWorks for your printer. What profile are you using? You replaced the...
Use alcohol and a brass parts brush or tooth brush, be sure to get all the pieces of vinyl stuck to the grit rollers. I've never heard of Oracal 3640 leaving adhesive on the rolls...check your heat setting - sounds WAY too high!
