"We are currently getting 15,000 plus hits per month."
Dan, that's probably because many of us look upon you with god-like reverence.
If anybody reading this hasn't seen Dan's work I'd suggest you visit his website or pick up a recent copy of Signcraft magazine...absolutely amazing work. - Boyd
Thanks! and now you know why it's so expensive to put a spacecraft into orbit...everythings' made out of medite and plexiglass so it's really heavy ;-)
If you're competent at sign design, doing an effective website isn't much of a stretch.
I've done a few with an extremely easy to use wysiwyg program called CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer.
My personal site www.grandbanks42.com has been up for a few years.
My business site...
Just finished installing Corel X5 and tried a test print using their included Versaworks colour palette. I can see the full Roland colour library in Corel, when I send a print file to Versaworks, it sees the contour cut line just file but it reads the fill colours as black...any ideas? - Boyd...
bearwen, we're in a rather unique situation. We're operating within the confines of a union, our clients are contracted to the union, I have to hire from the union membership which can be...ummm...ah...challenging at times.
Also as I said in a previous post, in our industry turnaround time is...
Thanks to all that took the time to reply!
I suppose "partnership" may have been the wrong choice of word to use when I posted the question.
Seeing as though the shop cashflow will be extremely tight for a while, I'm looking at ways of attracting somebody that is worth having onboard without...
I've been working as a signwriter, designer and fabricator for over 25 years.
Changes within our industry have pushed me to leave the union umbrella and to open my own business and work as a contractor to my former union.
Business will likely be relatively slow to start although I'm certain...
So where exactly did you order Signvox from?
I was on their website and it's pretty terrible, no pricing, demos or order links.
Glad to hear their customer support is good.
Would also like to hear some reviews of the program if possible.
Thanks - Boyd
Hey Sticky!
Sorry but seeing as we play in the same sandbox I'm keeping this kinda' quiet until our grand opening (absolutely no disrespect intended) . - Boyd
Thanks again for all the advice. We signed off today on the property across the street fro our biggest supplier. Some of your comments really did contribute to the decision making process and for that I am truly grateful!
As a bonus, the location we ended up taking has far superior traffic...
Seeing that tagging system for roll goods was worth the price of admission alone!
We're moving into a new shop next month and that's one idea worth stealing; great work! - Boyd
We're not a retail sign shop, we do graphic work for a specific market segment that relies on very fast turnaround times at competetive rates.
We're looking at relocating our shop and the choices have come down to two locations...one is across the street from one of our major clients which...
When doing a print/cut test, adjusting the feed setting changes nothing, I get the same results every time even if I make an extreme adjustment.
The print/cut results I get are acceptable (just) but not perfect.
I am able to change the scan settings and get perfect registration on that axis.
The...
Left brain dominant Adobe.
Right brained, Coreldraw.
I use both and have always found Corel to be more intuitive.
Adobe, more geared to more methodical thinkers.
Of the two, I prefer Corel.
