  2. Versaworks defaults to black

Thanks Steve but going by memory there wasn't anything unusual in the settings. As a matter of fact there were several other pieces on the page within Corel that I was able to print just fine...I'm stumped.
  3. Versaworks defaults to black

Yes Pat, the colours were pulled from the Roland colour pallette in Corel. The workaround was to convert the image to a .jpg and save it to a jump drive and add it directly to the Job Queue in Versaworks as opposed to sending it as a print file from Corel.
  4. Versaworks defaults to black

Trying to re-print a job from Corel X5 that I successfully printed last week but now all the deep reds are defaulting to black when brought into Versaworks. First time I've seen this...any ideas? - Boyd

Haa! Spiderman font...my then 10 year old daughter called me out on that when I re-lettered our old sailboat. Not having seen the movie was my excuse.

  12. Kooto cutter

We have a panel saw too, the Kooto was purchased to trim laminated posters on Gatorboard and Ultraboard. - Boyd
  13. Kooto cutter

FatCat, I've tried using it for pretty much the same substrates as you but I'm finding the blade wanders as much as 1/4" over a four foot cut, I've tried experimenting with different blade depths etc. without success. I can assure you the cutter was assembled squarely, the backing boards were...
  14. Kooto cutter

I honestly wish I could give this thing a "thumbs-up" but I can't. My Kooto is nothing more than a wall decoration since a week after I bought it. Having ruined too many pieces of foamcore and Ultraboard, I gave up. A great concept and the engineering is pretty good but the materials used are...

    Welcome from Vancouver!
  16. Find My Font 3 Released

Cool! and the sign they showed in the demo video is just up the road from me.
  17. Mini Flyer Critique

"The mom and pops have zero knowledge on how to run a business successfully" ...really? After completing my initial two semester signwriting course I served my four year signwriting apprenticeship in a mom and pop operation that was already in business while I was still in grade school, they're...
  18. Mini Flyer Critique

I'm not in "the market", we're in a closed loop situation with a clearly defined, relatively secure client base that operates outside of the mainstream business environment. We don't compete with shops such as yours or any franchise outlets, I was only commenting on what I've witnessed as a...
  19. Mini Flyer Critique

Not in the least, but around here McSignshops seem to go a long way to cheapen what was once a respected, creative and sometimes profitable craft. The examples I've seen locally are usually run/owned by somebody with little or no previous experience and more often than not, little or no...
  20. Mini Flyer Critique

Seriously...why are any of you helping out a franchise outlet?
