I've got a Mutoh 1304 and we're having an issue when we send multiple jobs to printer the first job will be taken up by the take up reel and then when the second job goes to print the printer sucks the media back in and trips the take up reel... Therefore causing the take up reel to be...
Vista Prints does some great work. I don't use them.. but, they offer a 16pt cardstock instead of the flimsy crap that most printers offer (12pt). For paper printing I'd use Jakprints they offer a great product and print with SOY inks and use an aqueous coating instead of a UV coating...
To get quick results send mailings to all of your previous customers. Be sure to always send a holiday card.. and not just one you pick up from the store. Always do something custom and a bit extravagant. You're a custom shop.. so go all out. You'll get the return trust me.
For my sticker...
Agreed.. Timing is everything and most of the time its not an immediate response. Do you have a website where your customers can order online and then have the ability to apply a promo code to get the discount?
We send out a custom designed holiday card every year (link to it here) http://www.purebuttons.com/thebuttonpost/purebuttons-news/purebuttons-wishing-you-happy-holidays/
However, this is only to our previous customers and we usually get a 20+% return instead of your standard 3%. (not too bad...
Some of these shops are way over priced and I don't have any sympathy for them loosing business. In this day and age you need to lower rates and make up for it with volume.
Don't have the work.. earn it.. It's time to get away from just "local" business anyway. Anyone agree?
Also, too...
I've learned it's better to service your machine yourself. All sales reps will tell you what you want to hear to make the sale. We currently have a Mutoh 1304 and are in the process of adding a second printer (1614). Our sales rep started out great and over the course of the last 2 months it's...
We've been in the same mode of doing research. As far as laminators go we decided to run with the GBC 640t 61" wide laminator with heat assist. If you are looking to get in touch with a great rep PM me and I'll get you his contact information. I'll let you know what I think of the VJ1304 when it...
It's tough to say how busy we'll be. Which is why I'm hesitant on getting just one machine for printing / cutting. Right now we manufacture custom buttons and we currently produce around 400,000 buttons a month. I don't see a problem with turning some huge business quickly doing decals / custom...
If I'm able to run that same workload the cost seems huge if you can find a place to give you $15 off per cartridge. You don't use the 440 mil? They're available..
Sounds good! On average how many 440 mil ink cartridges does a steady shop go through a month? I'm trying to find this out because my local shop is willing to give me quite a discount for the Roland Eco-sol inks. I just got this email now.
some people take great care of their equipment and some people just don't care and toss money away. Overall bang for your buck at this point it seems that either printer is great just personal preference. What about ink cost per sq. ft.? Are these the same cost? I've found that both machines...
As far as the Mutoh vs the Roland printers I think they are both comparable in features.
I've heard that Rolands typically have issues when the warranty expires.. is this true?
