  1. Horribel refresh rate/ scrolling... how to fix?

if you've wiped and reloaded Windows, I'd agree - video card (aka graphics adapter or graphics card) drivers need to be downloaded and installed. You need to know the make and model of the card to do this though, unless it came with / and you still have an installation disk - though...
  2. Birth of a mobo

absolutely mind-boggling! thanks, a very cool link indeed. :thumb:
  3. Which Level of Flexi Do I Need

I use Flexi Print and Cut 8.1 on Windows XP. It has a RIP of course (hence the "print" in the title...) its almost half the price of the Pro version, but lacks a few of the features (not many for the price difference! ) Look at their comparison charts to see the difference.
  4. All Computers Running Slow!!!???

I'd definitely go with the defrag first - even run it a couple of times. You might also want to try and nail down what type of "slow" your getting. eg: disk read (defrag / failing hard drive) or processing / CPU & Ram load - which is more of a software based problem. don't assume they all...
  5. Laminator

I'm a "Ding" man as well ; ) Overall, it works fine for me as well... A key thing though, that GXSign mentioned, is that it works "by the weight of the rollers" - anytime I try to actually put more pressure than the free-wheeling point of the roller screws (where the rollers "floats" ) I...
  6. Master Cutter Won't Cut. Grrrrr

I just replaced my panel (cheap piece of junk) master cutter 2 days ago. The part was only 30 bucks (40 after shipping and taxes) - unbelievable how cheap these things are. I'd get a new teflon strip while you're ordering... never hurts to have one of these on hand, keeps things cutting nice...
  7. Small Shops - How many active jobs do you have and what is your lead time?

I'm sure volumes could and have been written on this  My only "tip" on staying a bit organized, is that I have an erasable board beside my desk. 3 columns - " Design / Production / Installations " Its so fast and easy to update / change. Its big and easy/quick to reference. If I...
  8. So MUTOH it is...

I got a 1204 about a year ago, and couldn't be more pleased with it! 2 points of discussion on this thread though... Aftermarket inks: nah... when I look at the difference per sq. ft. it really doesn't make sense, for all the downsides. Profiles and colour matching are daunting enough with...
  9. Looking for a new LCD monitor - suggestions?

I'm a big fan of Samsung Monitors, when you want quality - though there's several good choices around. I don't like Dell for the same reasons I won't shop at Wallmart :glasses: big guys tryin' to wipe out all the small companies... The biggest/most common "rant" I read on these forums are...
  10. Preferences

I have Flexi 8.1 and I find the "defaults" change (seemingly) by themselves all the time! Especially fonts, font size, and colours. I'm sure there's a way to actually "set" them, but it hasn't been irritating enough to look it up yet. Of course, I tell myself, "what's the point in "setting"...
  11. production manager problems

yep... I got in to the shop this morning, and checked this right away. Sure enough!! I don't know what's worse - that it was such an easy fix, or that I should have known better!! Doh!. Thanks again!
  12. production manager problems

LOL! I was just coming to this thread, to post this VERY question... and here's the question, the comments, and the answer, all sitting here waiting! What an amazing place! :U Rock:
  13. What Cutters do you like?

Hey Matt, could you explain why you say that? Looks like the Summa is about $1000 more at the 54inch size (I've not really "shopped" it much - but that seems the ballpark) I'd really like to hear from someone who has first-hand knowledge of the S class vs the Graphtec. I like to save a grand...
  14. What Cutters do you like?

good info here! I'm hoping to get through the summer with my old (embarrasing name here) . I'm really surprised to see how few folks opt for the Summa. They were actually on the top of my list - with Graphtec next choice. All in all, I get the impression all the "brand name" plotters are...
  15. Mutoh OEM Ink supplier

I read somewhere, way back when.... that you could actually use the 440 cartridges (from the bigger printer?) only problem was they stuck WAY out the back, leaving potential for damage. Don't know if the per/ml is any cheaper for these either. Anyone ever try this, or have further info on...
  16. Hay All, Anjum From Mississauga

Welcome Signs2go! Always happy to see a new face (avatar?) around here, hope you have fun and learn some new stuff too!
  17. HELP!!!! Mutoh 1604 ink error "not original"

I have had a Mutoh ValueJet 1204 for about 6 months now (my first printer, and also, I"m pretty "low volume" ) - and I am just overjoyed with its functionality, quality and overall performance. I've not had any bad chips (again, I don't go through that many cartridges - probably on about my...
  18. Motherboards and PCI Slots ? ? ?

first, I don't know of any North American made Mobo's. Not one... second, yeah.. with all the stuff that comes "on board" these days, finding more than 4 pci slots... well.. good luck with that. I don't think there's a market for it - so none are currently produced. but I'm curious too...
  19. Has any one used Xara Xtreme graphics software?

looks pretty amazing to me as well! Nice post, its really great for folks to share info like this, and just one more reason to be a regular signs101 reader, lol. Unbelievable price as well. I'm downloading and trying the demo now. My biggest "first instinct" concern, is what formats it can...
  20. Mutoh & Contour Cutting

I have a 1204 Mutoh (and love it) along with a cheap-ass "master cutter". Now, this cutter is workhorse, no question there. Cuts all day with hardly any maintainance (noisy as hell, lol) and even cuts pretty straight, if you're careful loading the media. Did I mention it was crazy-cheap...
