  7. Major Flaw In Daige Quickmount 4????

Got you covered Mike - check your email! Also here is the 'official response from Daige' concerning what some are calling a 'flaw' - but really applies to reverse wound laminate: Hi Jason, What they are talking about is a "shaft holder". This is only needed when using reverse wound laminate...
  8. Horizontal lines showing up on vinyl

Try performing a search for "banding". Usually speeds, heat, profile, etc.....

  11. Arlon wrap kit pros & cons

Right on - not sure about the static problem. I called my Arlon rep, and he said he was not aware of any static issues with print materials. We've heard of his numerous times with laminates (that use synthetic liners) and usually that can be fixed by grounding machines. PS. I was checking out...
  12. Arlon wrap kit pros & cons

Are you talking about the 4560, or 4560GTX? Are you using this with a cast or calendared laminate? That laminate choice could explain it not staying conformed. Also, if you are using a Roland, the PGCT profile = money!
  13. Arlon wrap kit pros & cons

The Arlon 6000x has less tack than the Oracal - but more than MACtac's BFree (not sure when comparing to BFree PRO) The Arlon 4650GTX calendared works great with a CAST overlaminate on vehicles. It is conformable for sure - but no compound curves. Perfect for partials or trailers. We ran...
  14. jarhead profile

Use a pressure senstive laminate, heat could really effect the adhesive (could even melt the material). I would say a 3 mil satin would be ideal.
  15. jarhead profile

I buy from Sihl - I am a dealer (but don't hold that against me). I have a Roland VP540 in my demo room and get to play with all kinds of media. If you want some samples or have any questions, please feel free to call or email me anytime.
  16. jarhead profile

We tested the GMI Wall Graphics, MACtac Wall Noodle and Sihl 3529 SyntiSol PolyPro Film w/ EastyTack. The best product we found was the Sihl 3529: SyntiSOL PP-Film is a self-adhesive (EasyTack), satin coated and tear resistant polypropylene film with a waterfast coating for solvent inks. The...
  17. Roland and it's advertising :{)

Pretty good difference in speed actually, and the ability to print in lesser quality with better results is easier achieved with the VP Printer. They do not share the same print head. Keep in mind the VP also carries a 2 year parts/labor warranty and the SP retains its 1 year warranty...
  18. versacam photo paper

+1 for Sihl. Great products for the Roland. 3686 TriSolv is great for a cheap paper (8 mil 50 lb satin) and they have a new 3190 PhotoSol 7 mil Satin that is a bit nicer, still at a great price. And bpatrick3 is on the money with the lower heat.
  19. jarhead profile

Not sure about this exact material - but most wall material is Matte - so start with MCVP profile, maybe moving to Generic Vinyl 1 & 2 if not happy with those results. Probably a little thicker than calendared vinyl, and may need a little more heat. Hope that helps.
  20. Solvent Printing on Static Clings

GMI Static Cling - best out there for the $$$ (Cheap). Available in White and Clear. Awesome print quality on with MAX inks.
