  1. HP Latex smoking (?) need help

Looks like water vapor to me and when in a small space it can be noticeable. Sometimes we can even have drops of water forming in the heater part of our 310 if printing heavy saturated long prints, and you can see the same water "smoke" coming. I don't think it's harmful but if you have a small...
  2. How to accomplish?

If you have a distinct transition e.g. a line or similar that divides the old from new then you can probably do them as separate "half wraps" and laminate accordingly. But a fade from matte to gloss is of course impossible so you need to make a joint where it needs to change surface type. So...
  3. Need Help A4 L805 UV PRINTER

If it's brand new then it's first of all back to the seller for support or refund.
  4. Name that printer

Hey, that's the printer model I started out with! Felt like nostalgy when we put in our first Latex printer and the cartridges looks exactly the same :D
  5. HP 360 Slow To Wake Up

You have probably already tried to run the file system check from the preventive maintenance menu? Is it any difference if you have the network cable plugged in or not? Firmware up to date? Just shooting wild here, if you already had a tech look at it, they should know more... =)
  6. Fuji Acuity LED 1600

Thank you very much for the approximate values of the pressure, ProColorGraphics! Sounds good about the ventilation, yeah, I didn't think the smell was too bad when we tried it and the seller has it in a quite small space and no ventilation so I guess it will be fine. I'm excited to start trying...
  7. Fuji Acuity LED 1600

Thanks a lot for the info about the pressures AlsEU, very good to know for a beginner like me! I visited the seller and we tested the printer today and I decided to take it. Will be some days before I get it transported but I'm sure there's a lot to learn. The print quality is excellent compared...
  8. Fuji Acuity LED 1600

Thanks a lot AlsEU and ProColorGraphics for your replies and good points! Going to look at it on Monday, the RIP is an (probably old) version of Colorgate. It's said to be a year 2013 but this is more of a test for us to see how a hybrid-flatbed UV works. It needs a new black head though but the...
  9. Fuji Acuity LED 1600

Got a great offer to pick up a used Fuji Acuity LED 1600 printer, before I go and look at it, what do I look for (any obvious telltale signs to walk away)? Has anybody got any good/bad experiences with these? How hard is it to use and work on? The price is really great and I can see it in action...
  10. Need a super silent air compressor for garage

Senco has some silent models. But in that price range you should go and tty some at the local hardware store. You might want to consider building a noise cancellation box and put it inside (with a fan to not overheat). And you know this is a forum for professional signmakers, not auto repairs?
  11. Opinion on Summa F1612 (or any F-Series)?

We have one and have been using it a lot for cutting vinyl, banners, soft sheets, pvc sheets etc. We haven't tried routing so I can't comment on how that works. Overall we love the machine, it is sturdily built, great precision and the feed/belt works excellent. The only negative could be that...
  12. How much should I charge for 20 truck trailor lettering/decals for each of them 75 squre ft dealingr

Don't forget to include cost of a couple of rollepro rivet rollers, you're gonna need them...
  13. Summa s2 t series for mx decals?

We have a S2 but drag knife version. We haven't had much success in cutting Substance without a lot of hassle, very slow speed, knife dragging on the material etc. We tried a lot of different settings, knives etc. but it never seemed to work right. Great cutter otherwise but not for this imo...
  14. Question SP540v How do you turn on High Speed?

You can nest jobs together, add the jobs to the queue normally, select all the jobs you want to print at the same time (hold ctrl or shift and left click) and click the button with the two folders connected to create a nested job. Your Versaworks help will describe this more troughly, it's...
  15. Software Help Cyrious software

We have switched from Estimate to ShopVOX and been using it for around 6-8 months. As with all these systems there's a time consuming startup phase but the more we use ShopVOX the more we like it. Now production management is smoother and I feel it has reduced stress overall in the company. We...
  16. What's your company's Year over Year growth percentage?

~15-20% this year. 3,5 people shop size.
  17. Question Best printer for moto, snowmobile, car wrap

Make sure you test the cutting part for the motocross decals so it works with the media you're planning to use. We use Substance (don't do a lot but occasionally for one client) and it is a excellent material but thick and heavy to cut, as all the motocross decal materials. Before we got the...
  18. Mutoh 1324X 54 or MIMAKI JV-150-130 54"

Scratch resistance on at least banner material is way better on the latex 3rd gen. compared to eco-solvent, at least what I've personnally tested and tried. We now run banners on latex printers only and the finishing is a breeze. You need to destroy the actual banner material to get the ink off...
  19. HP Latex 360 print problem with Orafol 3551 DT

Actually on the German datasheet they just specify solvent compatible but just looked on the English version they've included latex? Hmm...
  20. HP Latex 360 print problem with Orafol 3551 DT

Seems as the 3551 DT is solvent/eco sol only, at least according to some brochures. But check with your supplier, if it's not latex compatible you have to live with print defects or change media or printer. Good luck!
