  1. VP-540 Maintenance

If your test print looks good, nothing squeaks like an old horse cart - great! Just run it until it prompts you to do something or something happens with the test print/print quality. Wipers is the only thing I can think of that we change when they starts to look worn but otherwise I haven't...
  2. Need help picking printer cutter.

If you're going to make decals for bottles with solvents you need to laminate the decals so don't forget a laminator if you don't have one already. If I remember correctly the Soljet Pro has more printheads than the SP making it faster but also more expensive if you need to change it heads so...

Thanks a lot for the informative replies guys, guess it's time to finally spend on the i1 I've been looking at too long... Just thought it was a nce thing if I you could use the onboard one.
  4. Wasatch, calibration and HP 26500

Thanks a lot for the reply! Okey, so I sort of add it as a new device or? Have tried to run the HP Designjet Calibration from the RIP but no success.
  5. Wasatch, calibration and HP 26500

OK, stupid question, we use Wasatch SoftRIP and L26500. Does the HP handle all calibrations etc. by itself or how do you use the built in spectrophotometer? On our small Z-series we can run the calibration from the front panel but not on the L26500. Do you need to run it? Sorry for a newbie...
  6. Humidity problems in flatbed

Boil some water in the same room?
  7. How to use printer/cutter as vinyl cutter?

You design your layout as usual (or take a previous print&cut job) and use the cut contour color on the lines, letters etc. you want to cut, then, select "Cut only" under the tab "Cut Controls". Load the material as usual and set the base Point, knife pressure etc. When loaded, click the "Print"...
  8. Roland OnSupport crashing

Same problem here, got the problem a couple months ago and haven't been able to use it since, sadly. I've tried everything. It was so great when it worked:! What OS do you run?
  9. Just stops printing and states Not Connected in VersaWorks

Do you access your print files on a network drive? Sometimes we need to log in to the network drive to avoid this problem due to restrictions in access from Versaworks.
  10. Crook, Idiot or Naive?

I have a customer like this right now, they are always in a hurry and have piles of overdue notices on their desk, they order wrong sizes, assumes we are mind readers etc. They always order last minute and lately they are months behind with payments, so I'm very careful that they now pay off a...
  11. Welding PVC banners

Thanks for the replies! We run also 13 oz. but I haven't speeded up yet so the 500-550 degrees is giving us a very strong weld in my opinion, and I do think it's faster and easier than glue or tape when you make a couple or more. Maybe the fumes aren't as bad then, we don't get any smoke or a...
  12. Welding PVC banners

So we got a larger order for 68 pcs. of about 44 feet banners that need to be welded on both edges. We got a Leister Uniplan E for the job but how afraid should we be of the eventual gases etc. that comes from the banners when welding? I know if you burn it you get nasty stuff but we work in a...
  13. Please help. Roland sc540 is printing off where it should leaving a shadow.

Yep, as Woolly says, clean the encoder strip and/or encoder sensor carefully. Search the forums for procedure and don't use the cleaning fluid (will ruin the strip) but I think alcohol should work.
  14. How to apply existing poster to foamcore?

Get the foamcore with adhesive already on them - super easy to mount even by hand. Costs somewhat more but saves a lot in labour.
  15. PDF Files - Convert Fonts to Curves

If you have Acrobat (not only reader) you can extract pages as individual files right from the pages toolbar.
  16. Few questions RE: HP Printer Vs Roland.

We use both and the print&cut Roland Versacamms are great if you run a lot of unlaminated decals that are contour cut. If you run a lot of laminated stuff or banners etc. I would go with a printer+separate cutter, since you have more room to grow then (your printer isn't tied up with cutting...

  18. L26500 heads dropping out

So this is what the brand new cleaning cartridge look like. As you can see it has jammed from new and also ripped the felt. It doesn't move at all when trying to turn the white gear and it yas tried to clean and clean on the same spot gumming up the heads. The tech told me it has been a couple...
  19. L26500 heads dropping out

So, checked the altitude, it was correct 0-1000 m for where I am. Changed both K-Y printheads. Run fine for the first few meters and then it started banding as before. Took a photo of the color bars. I enabled the extra ph cleaning for a while and it resolved the issue somewhat, but Iäm not...
  20. Name and shame!

Around here if a company doesn't pay and you leave it to a collection agency they try to get the customer to pay, if not they publish their company name and the amount they are due on the daily nation-wide business paper and in an online database so very easy to check up a company. Works on some...
