Yep, running gutters and that helps at least determine which head that fails. I get them changed at warranty but it's ridicolous to have to change a head after 130 ml usage
Yes, they get better after cleaning.
Have a relatively new L260/26500 and have recently had problems with a couple C-LC heads suddently dropping out causing banding. Changed heads (on warranty) and it seemed to go away but now a Y-K (black) dropped out printing large solids of black, ruining half a roll of material while unattended...
And I thought it was just me getting all these "let's try doubling the height of the text and see what it looks like. What do you mean with it going over the neighbours storefront window as well, you should just double the height, don't touch the width! Gah, I knew I could do this better in MS...
If you're playing around with the Roland library make sure the "convert spot colors" are checked under "file format"tab in Versaworks. Otherwise you don't do anything with the Roland colors... Good luck!
Take out the empty cart and put a piece of tape over the tab that has popped out so it keeps in. Put the cart back in and you're good to go. Remember to change it then when you get a new one.
Doesn't VW override the printer settings if you Enable advance cutting options (when you set your passes to 2 or 3)? I think you can set passes, speed and downforce from VW? Otherwise he would have cut three passes with 260 if he hasn't changed the settings on the printer?
Had this same problem at first but then I changed the sleep mode time to 120 mins. or something like that, it was at 30 at first I think. Haven't had any problems since (knock on wood). Maybe you guys already has it set to that or if it just was a lucky shot but it's definately worth a try...
You should get a laminator if you can. Don't you have customers asking if you can mount prints on substrates? Matte laminate some of your prints? Even apply masking tape? A laminator is an easy way to upsell your customer and you will need one anyways sooner or later if you expand. If I was to...
Are you connected directly or trough your network/hub/switch to the printer? Sometimes a busy network can't handle the printing and you get strange errors and behaviours.
At about 8 passes our L260 is at the same level as the Rolands regarding graininess imo, 10+ passes it gives better output regarding the graininess than the eco-solvents on uniform colors. That's just my. 02.
Have you changed the knife to a new one? Is it turning freely in the holder? Sometimes our Rolands gunk up with a tiny piece of adhesive in the holder and the knife doesn't turn=the machine drags it sideways and the cut is jagged. Take the holder apart and clean&lube. Good luck!
Roland LEF-12 tabletop flatbed prints on a lot of substrates aswell as any size you cut your cards to, so perhaps if you also have other applications it could be a good machine for you?
Tech was here, we checked all connectors etc. and all looked good. He measured the drying unit etc. and the resistance etc. was good and well within specs. I put down the minimum drying Power to 0.9 now and it has just finished off a couple jobs without a hiccup so perhaps it will be OK now...
The Designjet Z-seriew uses similar carts as the latex printers, only smaller in size. Not that they are really cheap (OEM) though, but that goes for all of these models, be it HP, Epson, Canon...
Thanks a lot for the replies everyone!! Yes, I remember my old 5000 it wiggled some too! I'll try to put down the minimum drying power, just wanted to know if it was something more serious going on that's common with these. Otherwise it's been running like a champ until now, great machine!
So our new L260 is about 2 months old and we've not done a huge lot of printing yet, yesturday I run a longer job with a black gradient and got a 14:10:00 error near the end of the print. I know it has to do with the heater but the tech said to turn down minimum drying power to 0.8 or 0.9 in the...
