  1. Critique Requested

Well, I think I'm happy enough to send it to the customer. Thanks for all the advice/tips. Now we wait for a committee of 60 60 year olds to shoot it down, lol.
  2. Critique Requested

Yea, that was on the list lol. Alt. color option attached. Thinned out one of the lines.
  3. Critique Requested

Colors aren't set in stone, just two relatively complementary that will contrast well with a light grey wall. I've played with a few options as well. I know this is hard to believe, but Clermont actually has "hills" - that was the look I was going for. They'll "get it". "Deed Restricted...
  4. Critique Requested

Updated a bit. I'm gonna try and keep the background stripes. But I did make a few changes, to the font and where the stripes fall.
  5. Critique Requested

Got another one in the works - A little background - this is going on a grey prefab concrete wall - it's long, boring, and grey. I figured some organic/flowing shapes will help break up this monstrosity. Hoping for pushthrough acrylic, illuminated cabinet, custom masking. This is super early...
  6. Loosing money - best estimating program

Honestly... if you're losing money it's not an internal issue - it's an external one. Brute force is sometimes the answer. Get outside sales going and go hard and go far. Expand your area - you need to meet a baseline amount of income and can't rely only on walk-ins and repeat customers...
  7. Rant "Can you re-use my sign?"

Glancing at the thumbnails... I thought someone had posted upskirt shots for a moment
  8. Is it OK to turn down work?

Well... I'm sure many people here have dealt with a church committee over a $200 job, and watched it drag on for weeks, had to go after hours to meet with the committee, and had trouble recouping payment. Not to mention the price haggling... oh, the price haggling.
  9. Is it OK to turn down work?

You do have to be careful with "who" you turn down sometimes - take a look at your vertical markets. Anyone with potential to be a repeat customer, or with the potential to buy big-ticket items, should be given priority. Example of someone you might have to drag through some jobs for...

  12. Can We Post Our Linked-Ins?

Is it against policy to do so? Might be helpful for me to see what others are doing/have done in their careers, ask questions, etc.
  13. Opinion Opinions wanted........................

My Kids. Before them, I was a 31 year old single man, liked to party, held jobs just to get some money to do things I want, lived with parents all but 5 years of my 31, and played way too many video games. Now, I dont have time or money for any of that. Yay, responsibility.
  14. Netflix

Hanna on Amazon Prime was excellent.
  15. Any ideas for a "job" progression reader board

+1 for ShopVox -1 for Printavo +1 for Magnetic Dry-erase. It's info available at a glance, that can be updated in seconds, without special training or time spent.
  16. Help Settle an Argument Regarding Ordering Panfaces

Everyone knows that it goes: Sales Guy > Designer > Installer Except the installers... and the designers
  17. What would YOU do?

Sounds like you need a better salesperson.
  18. Just slipped a disk.

Well, I toughed it out til 230. Couldnt even sit in the chair, let along walk, so went to the Chiro. They're thinking its a pinched nerve, put me on the table, tens unit, and traction roller. Iced the hell out of it last night and took a hot shower. its about 50% better, so I can at least...
  19. Just slipped a disk.

First "major" injury while working. I was pushing against a lintel on a door frame. Anyone know any stretches or movements I can make besides curling into a ball on the floor? Figure a lot of you old cranky guys (does this make me an old cranky guy?) might have a tip or two.
  20. What could cause this?

That 100% looks like pressure washer damage. It's ripped from the surrounding vinyl, upwards. Driving airflow or moisture penetration would not have that effect.
