  1. Credit Cards

I had one customer balk and another gladly pay the processing fee. The balker paid by check. Your other choice is to price higher on the sign and if you do this remember the customer only sees that you have a higher price for your sign. For me, I try to offer the best price I can to a customer...
  2. Different HDU Types

I never really thought about this before until I decided to send a customer some information about HDU. For me, HDU was HDU regardless of brand - sort of like if someone asked for a kleenex they'd still get a tissue. As I"m researching, I see there are more than a couple of companies that...
  3. Corel Draw and Printers

I seem to remember that some have used CorelDraw to cut vinyl or send a file to a LF Printer. I don't typically use CorelDraw because I'm using FlexiSign for sign design but ya'never know when you'll need it. Does anyone know how CorelDraw can be setup for Graphtec plotters or HP Large Format...
  4. Another Pricing Question!

Plastics have all gone up in price. Also, there is a shortage of plastics. Prices of raw materials are going up and you'd have to be working from your stock not to notice. I work 'just in time' so I see the prices rising immediately. I pay very close attention to my manufacturer or supplier...
  5. Customer artwork

Answering only your question: What's the job worth to you? If it's a nice size job then I incorporate the price of vectorization into the sign and be done with it. If it's a nickel/dime sale then I send the art back requesting a vector graphic.
  6. Advise on horrible customer

First, take stock of the way you do business with this customer. Either it's you or it's him or it's both of you or you just are perplexed by the whole thing. If it's you, then he's actually helping you, although the way he said it leaves a lot to be desired. If you are doing what you can and...
  7. What was the smallest change you made in your business that had the biggest impact?

Getting rid of a couple of low budget high maintenance slow paying customers. It was a breath of fresh air.
  8. Need Help FlexiPrint ICC Wizard fails

I realize this is kind of a simplistic answer but see choice 1. Did you calibrate before going on to choice 2?
  9. Printing PMS colors correct

With Flexi you can set up a profile for a specific PMS color then each time flexi sees the color it will print it as you specify. I recently did just that and then profiled the specific PMS from my PMS color deck using I1. Came out perfect. I always have to look it up each time I do it but...
  10. Using application tape over liquid laminate

I've used LL and then hi-tack application tape but like the other poster said, I didn't let the AT sit on it. It was on/off and I let the LL dry a couple of days and used a couple of coats. My point: it can be done.
  11. Fully Vaccinated? Drop the mask!

Not in New Jersey. Governor is keeping masks on us for the foreseeable future. Strangely, I believe from the non-reaction of the population that the people of NJ are OK with this - I'm not though. I want that rag off my face.
  12. Printing PMS colors correct

is your printer / software / rip combination profiled?
  13. Fully Vaccinated? Drop the mask!

Still depends on state rules and masking remains in effect on public transportation and children in schools and camps. Buzz kill.
  14. Suggestions Overlaminate

Thanks. I remembered seeing or hearing somewhere that using a mask is not the practice with vehicle wraps and since those are laminated I figured why would I have an issue with something going on a flat chunk of PVC? Not having to mask will save some time and I like saving time.
  15. Work burnout

I'm a bit late on this but it sounds like its time to raise your prices. If you don't want to raise your prices then you'll need to look for ways to increase production e.g. hire people, better equipment etc. Some would say that it's a nice problem to have but I'm not so sure.
  16. A good story about perceived value...

Can I get an Amen? I came to the same conclusions over a decade ago.
  17. Check the Price of ACM before you bid

I've noticed prices are going up on product also. Additionally, mfgs and suppliers have cut back on their time guarantees. Hyperinflation here we go!!
  18. Need Help Flexi 21 Can't print to Desktop Printer

Try filling in your scale and print options
  19. Suggestions Overlaminate

I don't use overlams but got this project where I'm either going to use a liquid or PSA laminate. If I go with lets say an Oraguard 210 (this is intermediate vinyl I"m using), would I apply the graphic to the substrate without masking it? Thanks. - denis
  20. Pantone Color Chart to print

You can print it from Flexi. I can't remember the exact steps because I did it a few times but didn't find it helpful but if you look on youtube one of the Flexi gurus has it. Try the SAI website too.
