That was just in case your printer had movable rollers. After you stated your rollers went all across I realized that my info would not help.
Sorry
Also their tip is what I do on my other Roland printer and it works there as well so some times one can help another even though their...
On the old Rolands CJ500 mine has 3 rollers. The printer reads only the outside 2 rollers for the media width and yes will leave a min 1/2" on both sides and more if you don't get the rollers right on the edge.
But.... what I can do is use the middle roller for the very left edge of the...
There should be a encoder test in the menu or service menu that would tell you if the strip is not reading right.
For what you have there, this would not be an encoder thing. Most times a dirty encoder strip will cause random lines to be printed in your print. These won't show in a test print...
The reason that happens is that the print head touches that filter in the captops when the screen is not there to push the filter down. The head then sucks up ink off the filter and causes a bit of mixed ink in the mag. head. By printing a strip of red, the head clears the contamination and...
So this sounds like either the damper or the area where the line connects by way of the brass nut to the damper. There should be an o-ring around the hard tube line that helps seal tight when threaded onto the damper. Remove that brass nut and re-set. That hard plastic line should sit down...
In the old Rolands, in the menu, there is a "Page Margin" that can be set from 0 to 100mm. To give an idea 25mm is 1 inch so if it is set to 100 this would be your 4 inch feed before print.
Set it to 0 if you want no feed.
Does the damper stay about the same level of ink and just the line from the brass nut (on the damper) drop back toward the carts.
Had you removed that brass nut and put back on not quite right?
You could do the Artbot test (which is a good way to check problems) where you swap the cyan and magenta on the print head. So now you have the damper for the cyan on the magenta print head nib and the opposite for the Magenta damper. If the problem continues on the Cyan then you know its the...
Any chance that the longer side was the second one printed (right half)?
If so it may have something to do with the takeup reel if your takeup reel has a bit of tension.
Welcome...
I would say that print heads would not change the quality as much as they change the speed of printing. My old Roland with a DX2 head can print every bit as good as some of the newer printers (DX4 heads) just takes a lot longer. If time is an issue then the new printers are the...
I used the 4 page test print for canvas prints. I did try the easy 1 page but did find that the colors were not quite as good for the art stuff. Banner stuff you could get away with the 1 page test print but it's not a lot of extra time to scan 4 pages and if it gets better colors (might not...
I would think that would be the rip that is doing that. There may be a default that sets it at 4" in. The printer has a advance feed after the print that can be set (at least in the older Rolands).
All that is inside a pump is tubing and a roller that moves and rolls against the tube causing a draw and if that roller happens to stop on the tube it would block that line but the other one may have stopped just off the tube and it may drain right through to the drain bottle. I'm sure most...
Do you clean the wiper blade every time the printer wipes the heads. If not then the ink you see might be from the wiper. Things get real gunked up from the wiper if you just let it drip off.
The blue arrow tube may have had some waste ink in it that could not drain due to the line being...
Sorry but I an not quite getting that part about not getting good results when sizing up.
If we use the bean size as a sample do you mean if you create a swatch with a bean at the size you want in proportion to your layout (lets say 1 inch long) it will look different, at 100% viewing, by...
I am still learning Illustrator and I don't want to ask a stupid question with clip art tiles but I will anyway.
When you talk about setting up tiles of 4 rows wide by 2 deep, I thought that was the only way to use them but....
In illustrator with a file open I place the tile I want and...
I think that printer can use white and that would be for where you want the white ink. Sounds like white needs two spots.
Do a google search on ink set for that printer and you should find some info.
I think the DX3 heads on the Epson are the same as are the DX2 and the Epson printers.
Not sure what you meant on the dampers. If you mean flushing the dampers out, you might be able to do a bit to clear them if they were plugged but try to suck out the crap from the top and not push...
