  5. Which canvas?

Right there isn't really any white in the design but ink is translucent right? wouldn't it get very dark against the "wood" painted background? I'll experiment with it. This is a cool idea, should make it look like the image is floating in the epoxy coating. Thanks.
  6. Which canvas?

Wow thats a cool idea. I don't have white ink. Did you mean mount clear print to a thin white substrate? I have some .060 clear lexan. what if i sheeted the bottom side with white vinyl and applied the printed clear to the top side, then coated with epoxy? Is that what you suggested...
  7. Which canvas?

Thanks for your responses. I know these questions probably seem pretty dumb or intuitve, but am just trying to narrow down the best path for this project. First time doing a sign like this and i want it to look awesome. My plan now is to use a 2 part epoxy coating, its called famowood cryltal...
  8. Which canvas?

I was wondering that. So you don't think that you would be able to see the texture of the canvas? How do you thhink it would look with cast vinyl print with lam and a 1/4 poly? I would guess that you would be able to see some of the texture from the canvas, but don't kknow first hand.
  9. Which canvas?

Done a little googleing and Min Wax Helmsmen spar urethane seems to be a popular choice for bartops other than the epoxys. Tyrant I like the idea to flood the frame with polly. will probably go that route. this may be a dumb question but I shouldn't need to clearshield the canvas before I flood with poly, should I?

  19. Which canvas?

what about phototex. I have read some stuff on here about it but mostly where people were applying it directly to a wall. Does this stuf have the similar look and texture that canvas does? Just seems like it would be easier to work with.
  20. Which canvas?

I dont want to have to add in the thickness of an extra substrate. i've used 3m super 77 spray adhesive in the past but pretty sure that is acid based. What acid free adhesive have you used in the past? Do you think the adhesive is somewhat slideable like wallpaper? Wondering because its hard...
