Looks more like a media contamination issue to me. I've had bad rolls from various vendors. 30 yards in, have full on hand prints. Dust/debris. Even Doritos crumbs. It all leads to odd fish eyes similar to what your seeing. All the vendors were clad to replace rolls, after a few email with...
I don't know of any independents if it matters. But Denco-Sales out in Chino has a team that I trust wholeheartedly. Or nazdar-sourceone has a guy based in the IE that travels that is pretty good. And then there is CalComp out in Anaheim. I would link up with the first two, first.
True. Absolutely correct. I was just offering a "possible" solution. I would hope that letterman7 would do his/her due diligence to find what works properly for the application. Like possibly laying 8900 over a clear PPF? Then cutting the design? FYI, Avery, Oracal and Mactac all have similar...
letterman7 I think there is a "metallic" effect lam used to add that look to color change wrap films (3m 8900?). I know there are similar products out there too.
IsItFasst , If the object/shape you are creating an outline/bleed on already has the cutcontour on it, it will take that same property and add it to the outline. Same applies with a regular stroke. If the original object already has a stroke or contour cut, the outline gets it too. I do it...
Poorly designed font. I see this a lot, the more I visit dafont.com...
But I have had luck outlining in Illustrator, then bringing the vectors into Flexi. Or, after I get through cussing #@%^# the idea that someone would put out a lazily built font, I just go in and draw shapes to cover the...
I think OP is looking for liner to be printed like say, Avery or Oracal. I recall there being a couple threads on the subject here. I think the resounding answer was, unless you are huge like say Oracal or Avery and able to produce the volume of printed liners like say, Oracal or Avery... Its...
I'm surprised to hear folks don't like the VGs. I got a VG-640 3+- years ago and its been great. Although a bit finicky when it comes to cleaning etc. Its been a work horse with great output. With out it, this years (and last) volume and margins would have been impossible. And with the new bits...
I printed your image VW Dual 1.6 and it came out fine. I also opened it in Illustrator (not sure what program it was designed in) but I didn't see any thing odd there.
I know you said there were no transparencies in the image, but have you tried flattening the image? Or the embedded profile...
I wonder if anyone else experiences these issues. Or is it just me? Sales guy gets project. Something we haven't done before .Then EVERYONE gets involved. Brain storming.Googling. Suggesting. I remember this one unrelated project that I feel telling an anecdotal story about'ing.
Before you know...
At least you get more pixels than you need. I often get the same, but the image embedded in the .eps or .pdf is like the 12kb company logo from their email signature.
There are a few software packages out there that use different algorithms to do the pixel math. Often with better results than Photoshop.
One that sticks out in my mind is the one from AlienSkin "Blowup".
But, as with everything with wide format, garbage in > garbage out. YMMV. You are not...
*GASP* You really do that with your $[insert price of item that I would not dare to slide on anything] phone? Wow. Reading that hurt my soul like when a baby falls head first on the corner of the coffee table or when an elder eats it on the concrete.
Yeah I've read about that. I've tried...
