  6. Scaling graphics for a box truck wrap

riping a large vector image with gradients, clipping masks and the what not can take upto 10 hours and we have a quad core. the loss we experience with converting to a 100dpi jpeg (which will rip in less than 10 minutes) and printing is negligible for large format, and well within the...

The print heads for the Mimaki are set at approximately 3-4 mm there is a teflon platen that you sit the heads on when installing and calibrating the head unit. 11. How can I use the 720 x 1440 setting on Mimaki Jv3

you could probably get away with 360x720 on the mimaki jv3 if you are using 6 inks. you might need to print with 2x ink drops. yes the jv3 can print 1440 although most people don't make a profile for it.

We have both the s and sp and are running the s in 6 color mode and the sp in 4 color. they are both workhorses and the biggest complaint on the s is that since it originally comes with no heater/media fans sometimes the heavy blacks and darker colors don't dry as quickly as one can print...

  17. How can you get consistant at any resolutions?

you need to color proof or pull down the color profiles for the correct print resolutions. I did learn something new while i was at SGIA. When printing at 360x540 with a jv3-sp setup in 2 x cmyk, only one set of heads fires rather than both. this can be why it looks less saturated for this...
  18. getting the warranty?

A Mimaki Print head runs $750/each there are 4 in this machine. Although the all likely don't go bad simultaneously. Print heads are the biggest expense short of the motherboard or communication board which are $2k/each. Maintanance would be good if the included a cleaning/alignment once a...
