  2. What are your top sales and marketing strategies for the sign industry?

I'm not dissin on anyone. Just saying you should dream big. Try and chase the big fish. Your time, effort and skill can pay you a dime or a dollar you pick. Don't mean to diss anyone. My apologies is that's how I came across. But.........I still think cold calling blows! Lol!

  5. Question HP latex, speeding up printing time with out sacrificing quality

What's the resolution and number of passes? We like to do wraps on IJ180, with 300 - 600 resolution on 10 passes. Never a problem. Any faster, your compromising the color and quality of the print, I would imagine.
  6. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

Don't mean to be rude, but if can't make some money on a deal it isn't worth doing. There's so much work out there you should never have to be the cheap guy. I don't print anything for less than $6.50 a square foot. With lam $8.50 - $12.00 depending on the product. We have a $300 minimum order...
  7. Need Help Tiled Prints Not Lining Up

Onyx is a really good tool. There is no reason not to use it to setup your prints, especially if your having these troubles already. Also the time saved on having you panelize is ridiculous. Go to set up tiling, enble run as separate jobs tab. Then set your overlap. We either use a half inch...

Pauly, I appreciate your effort. Color crest, what do you have that works? Other than poking holes in someone else's efforts? Go ahead give us your formula for accurate profitable estimate calculation. We're all watching and listening. Go ahead.

  10. Inside your retail shop, lobby or customer area

Here's a few photos of our place. All walls are wrapped up front of the office. TV has scrolling picture slideshow of all signs we do. Back warehouse is decorated as well. We set it up showroom style early on, first impressions are everything. Seeing examples of what you do are key.
  11. One man shop growing pains

I started with myself, my wife and a production/designer/vinyl installer employee. He would design, print and install what we could. We would use outside installers for vehicle wraps, and do all other installs ourselves. As time went on, we hired a vinyl wrap installer, then a small sign...
  12. What is the cause of this shrinking Laminate?

Charge accordingly. Cheapest is never cheapest, after the call back or repair. We use Ij180cv3/8518, or Briteline Wrapcast/wrapcast lam, and use two price points to sell the wrap. Better and Best.
  13. Back drop display

    Try wsdisplay.com
  14. Lam overlays on wrap?

If we were doing this we would use 180 w 8518 lam for the printed part of the wrap. If we could laminate the wtap with the holographic material we would do in place of the 8518. I am not familiar with that particular material, but assumed it was a type of laminate? It needs to be a cast if...
  15. What did these guys use to remove this trailer wrap???

I would be afraid of what California EPA would have to say about that going down the storm drain, or even a regular drain. I'll pass. Trailers and Trucking have gone crazy of late. A new 53" trailer is quite expensive these days. We have had many calls for quotes to remove old vinyl off of...
  16. onyx 12 cutcontour

When you load the file in Onyx, the job editor screen should come up. Make sure you mark the correct cutter, then check the cutting by clicking the checkbook off and on. You should see the cutting in your "CutContour" color come on and off as you toggle that setting. No need to print if it...
  17. Short rolls of Laminate

We wrap a lot of walls. We are in California. Most walls are painted in low VOC paints. It makes it hard to use cheap vinyl. We wall test everything. We have used many different vinyls but have lots of confidence in some and sometimes cringe with others. If you can get away with calendered...
  18. Short rolls of Laminate

double posted. how do you delete? Thx!
  19. Vinyl on Sherwin Williams painted wall

We prefer not to install others vinyl without a disclaimer up front. All walls, almost always need to be tested prior to printing. So when they send you a preprinted wall wrap from who know where, most times there's going to be a problem. I'm in California (not proud of that), low VOC paints...
