Three tips for papers on the 360:
use the takeup
use the takeup
use the takeup
not much fun if you are only doing a few feet but with many it's the only way to get them through
i lied - extra tip...build your profile using the HP photorealistic paper as the base
when you do this the printer...
You might regret choosing Graphtec over Summa.
ignoring the usual benefits a Summa brings...for Latex only Summa will give you accuracy.
latex will give a bit of distortion to all SAV so your cut lines will never quite match the print - especially in the middle of the print.
Summas have a...
Disagree / agree!
If you do get a warranty then consider a proper HP backed warranty.
The trouble with Insurance is that it covers time & materials - it does not guarantee you get your machine fixed quickly.
HP prioritizes parts distribution to those who have full warranties so they get the...
Hi
In the UK for the 60" version you need two 16amp sockets - blue with 3 round pins - same as you have for caravans.
The official spec as per the HP site prep guide for the L25500 is IEC 60309.
Often the cable in the wall does not need upgrading - usually a standard ring main will cope...
Heat Transfer Latex
Hi
Yes I have tested V3 latex ink with heat transfer when it was launched.
I used The Magic Touch substrate in a standard heat press - I think it was about 190'c & 8 seconds but I might be wrong.
However results were very good no issues during production.
HP say that...
Roland looking more and more desperate...
Allow me to quote from the esteemed and knowledgeable FrankW:
"I have worked several years (and still do that work) as a technician for roland printers, and now work for more than 3 years for a HP Latex dealer. I think I could comment the marketing...
You misunderstand my phrasing - of course you can't actually attach an output icc that would be impossible in this workflow - the phrase means that you build the icc only in the rip and this is the only calibration that the file has as it travels to the printer.
All the other calibrations...
No they are new profiles - there are new folders for backlit profiles, and even more for special profiles to allow matching with a 500 or 700.
Also both photo modes have double strike to allow better saturation and the next two modes have a new head speed - all of which has required new...
You have to love forums!
In Europe HP sell both Onyx and Caldera equally - they run both equally in Barcelona and promote both equally - the customer chooses which Rip gets installed.
There are a few niggles with Caldera currently - as there are with Onyx. All software has the occasional bug...
No they bought in a plug-in guy who was a specialist in this area they didn't use existing r&ad people on it.
As I said Onyx will have this in V12 soon - my point was that the lack of such a feature currently does not make Onyx a low end rip as there are other more important criteria.
Re the 750...
The mistake is in your post you have compared the absolute KW requirement from the Roland quoted Vs the Latex - this is not comparable as the Latex will finish the same job much quicker.
Thus it will NOT cost 4 times as much to run as it will be finished nearly 4 times faster - thus your...
Common Mistake
I see this kind of mistake made all over these boards.
Power consumption is a measure of usage OVER TIME.
4.6KW/h i.e 4.6KW every hour.
The Latex 360 prints most substrates perfectly with no banding at 17sqm/h - this is the normal expected production speed.
For the SP540 the...
You can re-profile and ensure that your ink limits are set to max but there is little point as it will increase opacity a small amount and may cause other issues like banding.
With these printers you simply put the same sheet back through the printer multiple times.
The trick with these is to...
Quite the opposite - it's the low-end rips that spend a lot of R&D time on pretty GUI's and this type of functionality (that can easily be done in application software like Corel or Illustrator) whilst ignoring the more important (and difficult) things that rips are supposed to do.
Just one...
solvent vs Latex
Several reasons - until about 12 months ago the Latex was always aimed at mid-level and the hardware pricing reflected this somewhat.
There wasn't a version aimed at the small shops until the new L310 came along so I'm not surprised you see a lot of eco-solvents at this end...
I use Onyx where this works just fine - but the settings should be the same in Caldera.
Create a new folder on your desktop.
Check you have set the cutter in Caldera to 'cut to folder' rather than cut to file etc and point it to this new folder.
When you hit cut it should give you a PLT file...
Just a reminder no rip is in control of the ink densities for the 360 - all rips just send an icc.
The calibration and ink restrictions / ink limits are independent of the rip as they are controlled in the printer only.
This is the same with EFI
You need a Summa DC5sx
Hi
The issue is not the Rip in this case but the printer. You will not get these colors from a standard CMYK inkjet printer.
Although some inkjets come with an orange or green ink these would still be limited for the variation you will need to deal with and lack that...
It looks like your postscript file has exceeded the maximum file length.
It's probably at an uneccessaryily high res originally.
Try enabling two-stage processing in your quickset and rip a new copy of the file.
To set this option, edit your quickset, go to the Advanced properties, Postscript...
