We use our UV to print onto (R-tape/Nekoosa) chrome then laminate with optically clear. Works perfectly and can even cut through the bleed without curling.
Haven't tried with our Epson ecosol as we haven't had an order for a while, but our old Roland would *always* curl if cutting through bleed...
If it's networked, check all cabling and restart all of the switching equipment between the VersaWorks PC and the printer... this could be a glitch and data is being transmitted to the printer very slowly.
We've had our RS for about 8 years I reckon. If there's ever a problem, it's with the operator (me). The machine just does what it's told and has been reliable.
Océ 1300 series uses 380-420nm UV wavelength according to the manual. Most of those light sources don't emit much in that range apart from direct sunlight.
You mention that your LEDs are 5000K, which is natural white which emits longer wavelengths than the cool white in the graphs. If this were...
We've got LED high bay lighting and it hasn't affected our print heads since the light is coming from above.
I'd be more wary if somehow you could get a direct beam across the head itself but chances of that should be very low.
Remember, the strength of the UV curing system for the inks has to...
Absolutely.... we scaled a 1200x900 pixel image to print across a full sheet print (8' x 4') last week and it looked amazing. Way better than Photoshop was able to do.
We've ripped >4GB files in the past no problems, so it's not an Onyx limitation (tested in both 10.2 and 12.2).
We did have a profile issue in the past where non-standard characters in the file name caused similar issues.
Renaming the ICC and re-importing fixed the issue for us. Just had to use...
Epson have concentrated their efforts on the V5000 and R5000 launches recently, so I think we might see a slightly longer delay with a new range.
Previous renewal period was approx. 4 years so it's getting close to time for some new models. Haven't heard any rumors yet though.
We still make our profiles in i1Profiler and import them into Onyx. I hope you'd be able to do similar with Asanti so you can get up and running without needing full compatibility from the RIP at this point in time.
Epson now has a resin/latex printer (R5000), however I haven't seen any first hand reviews on it yet. It should match the HP in durability, but have the print quality of an S80 apparently.
I would definitely be testing one at a reseller before going down that path though. They are still new to...
This is very clearly a physical misalignment... likely caused by the head strike mentioned in the original post.
No amount of alignment in the printer settings is going to compensate for it. It needs to be physically aligned properly and then micro adjustments can be made in the printer...
That's going to be a hard one to answer... Our Océ UV of the same age does not like expired inks at all.
I have a ColorWave tech about 200 yards from our workshop. I'll ask him when I see him next and see if he has any idea for you.
We have a solvent machine 6 feet from our UV... 4 years later and our heads are as good as the day either machine was installed.
This claim reminds me of a local retailer who only yesterday managed to convince an acquaintance that laser toner was being phased out and that they should be buying...
It's a thermal inkjet as per most Canon printers, 9 heads in total (3 black and 2 per color (C, M, Y)). I'm not 100% sure, but would assume it's aqueous since it's mainly for paper printing, so water/isopropyl may get the heads going again.
New heads look to be around USD$180 RRP each online...
We use a Neolt ElectroTrim 250 for our pop up banners... works a treat, and very easy and fast to use.

Near identical to the RS model. We would have looked at them, but no one could sell us one at the time.
