normally you add approx 1"-3" at the bottom as the extra piece gets pulled inside. you can ask the company you got the retractable banner stand off for a template. we use orbus for our retractable banner stands etc and the will send you a template for each banner stand you buy via email.
they really will try and cash in on anything they think they can make a buck out of.............and they probably will make aload of bucks out of it to!
yeam, on gloss my vp540i looks simular to those prints. on matte material they look much, much better. we print 99 percent of our stuff on standard print.

have you done a test print? go int othe menu and use the test print feature, see if any of the nozzles are misfiring or missing......you may have crap in your nozzles or on your head.
shane, use convex helmet material and a real good thick lam as the helmets take a hell of a beating!! if you have not used convex before take a look at there website.
lol..............we had the same machine, had it for 8 months and i finally got around to giving it back and getting the new seal el instead.
the diage was nothing but trouble. i had 2 techs around with years and years of signage/print and lam experience and neither one of them could get it...
