Depending on how long the unit will be without power, you can do a "pump up" (couple of days) or a "head wash" (couple of weeks). If the transport can be done without tilting or rough handling in a couple of days, I leave the ink inside.

If I needed a cutter, I'd go for a Summa. (Cutting quality, speed, tracking of long jobs, Barcode function, Flexcut and so on...) While Mimakis are pretty good as well, their Finecut is the best Software by far... and is available for PC an Mac.

The filler sensors are located in front of the printheads on the carriage. Very easy to replace.

The only cutters doing this right, are the Summa T Series Flexcut. Roland has officially hidden the perfcut function for quite some time...
