  1. Printed vinyl application in cold temperatures.

I am not familiar with face mount, but sounds like something I need to investigate. When I'm lettering a cold storefront window for instance, I leave the decals in the truck with the heat on, and only put on what I can measure, apply, and remove the mask on very quickly. Obviously for an...
  2. Orical 3951ra VS 3571ra? Plus! 290 VS 293?

For vehicle wraps, I prefer the 3m IJ180(more letters and numbers but can't remember what they are). As far as for flat signage, 3751 isn't bad to work with. As far as 3951 (non RA), about the only place I use it is when I'm applying motorcycle decals to paint that are going to be cleared over.
  3. Orical 3951ra VS 3571ra? Plus! 290 VS 293?

I don't think you will get flamed. I'm a big Oracal fan, but the 3751 and 3951 doesn't really hold a candle to some of the 3m films I've handled over the years as far as vehicle wraps go.
  4. Received Order to Find Flimsy A-Frames, Now Can't Find a Supplier for Sturdy Ones

I used to buy them from Bull Steel, but they aren't wanting to sell to sign shops anymore unless you make it worth their while. Those do look much lighter than what I normally purchase though.
  5. Magnet Material- Gloss Or Matte?

We use Matte for everything, printed or cut vinyl. I don't have a good answer for why I prefer it, other than I guess I just like the look of it.
  6. Magnet Material- Gloss Or Matte?

I personally like the Matte better than the gloss. As for running it through the Roland, I talked to a Roland wizard and he said that it can be done, but its best not to because it will wear out the drive rollers and once they are done, the machine is trash. For speed, I would print them with...
  7. Looking for waterborne, non-latex, exterior grade, glossy paints

Have you ever tried using Sherwin Williams All Surface Acrylic Latex or DTM acrylic? I understand what you're saying about avoiding latex, but vinyl seems to bond fine. I personally didn't care for the Resilience paint. It seemed to stay soft forever.
  8. phone solicitor harrassment

We use the caller ID and rarely ever answer a number we don't know. (aside from local numbers). Occasionally we get a telemarketer and tell them we're not interested and hang up. I figure if it's a real business person and they don't want to leave a message, I don't want to work for them...
  9. A simple serif font, but can't find it

    Many Thanks!!!
  10. A simple serif font, but can't find it

I've went through my fonts twice, haven't found it. Thanks in advance!
  11. bring back the black

I once saw a Roland tech take the cleaning solution and a swab, and dab the actual head while performing a regular maintenance clean. As soon as he was done printing, he immediately printed blocks of straight black. It did clear up the text prints considerably. He also warned me that this was...
  12. Best Etched Vinyl

I have pretty good luck from Oracal 8510, I know it's Cal vinyl, but seems to work pretty well. I also use a product from Universal. I'm not sure of the numbers without looking, but I really like it, and I feel for fine detail, it cuts and weeds better. As far as wet or dry applications, I...
  13. Anyone know these 2 fonts

The Din Din part is LamboHmkBold
  14. 49" to 54" Engineering Grade Printable White Reflective?

You sound like you are describing Oracal 5600. Have you looked at the 5700 series? It's more of an engineering grade and less flexible.
  15. What is this one?

    Thanks!
  16. What is this one?

Hey guys, looking for another one. Thanks in advance
  17. Magnet warping help

I think that is fairly normal warping for magnets, but I also use .030 on vehicles. Continue to print on vinyl and apply to the magnet instead of direct printing. That being said, some cheaper vinyls will shrink in the sun and curl the edges, allowing failure.
  18. Stripping paint off fire damaged HDU carved sign

If the other side is the same way, I wouldn't be surprised but what it wouldn't be cheaper to start over, especially if it is an insurance job. If you try to sand or soda blast the paint off, it will likely never be smooth and flat again. The wrong chemical absorbing into HDU could potentially...
  19. What Are You/Did You Buy On Sale Black Friday?

Grimco is starting their 12 days of Christmas today. I stocked up on some various sheets of Max Metal. They typically don't run a truck to me, but for this particular purchase, I got free freight.
  20. Upgrading Corel from X3 opinions

I wish I could comment on X7, but having not tried it yet, I can't help. I do run 16 daily, as well as 15 though. I keep both of them open at all times. X6 has some great features, but I still have some files that I prefer to build in X5 since I can plot them better and some of my older print...
