  1. Desperately need help with designing process for Motocross/Bike Templates.

I typically use the file they send as the cutline and then add a .1" contour as a bleed for my designs. The trouble I run into sometimes is when I'm trying to make the graphics carry from one panel to another, making them line up since they are grouped, but not always in relation to how they...
  2. Vinyl not sticking

The fiberglass box trucks are the worst to get the chalking off. I generally scrub the heck out of them with a soft bristle brush and whitewall cleaner, then soap and sponge with a hose. Once dried, I then wipe them down with denatured alcohol, followed by a dry rag as to not let it dry on...
  3. Police Car kits

Yes, the doors are very flat and easy to wrap. I'm not worried about wrapping them, I just figured for 7 vehicles, it would be faster to buy the pre-cut kits and slap em on. Since that does not appear to be the case, I will plan to wrap, and quit searching for pre-made things. Thanks for...
  4. Police Car kits

A lot of the vinyl is regular cut vinyl in reflective, but the doors are just blank white with reflective on top of them. I'm not as much concerned with the lettering as much as I am wrapping the doors in white. If there are pre-cut kits available, I would think that would be the way to go to...
  5. Police Car kits

Our local GM dealer is quoting 7 new Caprice police cars for our local department and wanted me to quote the graphics. They are ordering black cars and want white doors. A couple of years ago, I redid the graphics on an existing car that had been wrecked, and they provided the graphics...
  6. Synergy Green Camaro vinyl color

    Thanks, I'll take a look!
  7. Do you guys sell "blank substrates" to retail customers? Customer Rant...

I sell blank coro all the time. My price is X, if they want it cut, it's Y, if they don't like the price, they can go somewhere else. I'm doing them a favor, and I won't be bickered with on a sheet of coro. I probably sell 10-20 4x8 sheets a year, and I think word of mouth is how I get so...
  8. Trying To Make Oranges Brighter

I'm afraid double striking is the only option to hit a bright orange, but it comes at a cost. Nevermind the double the ink thing, you have to design your file where all the colors are double struck, or send two files to just overprint the one color, which is much more difficult to line up, plus...
  9. Synergy Green Camaro vinyl color

Hey guys, I've exhausted my color chips looking, and haven't even found anything close. Anyone know of a brand of vinyl remotely close to this color? It has a lot of metallic in it, so I'm afraid printing the color is out of the question. Attached is a google pic of the color for quick...
  10. Compbond ACM Panel... Anyone Familiar? Good? Bad?

I use Compbond daily. It's not the best out there by a long shot, and you are correct about it being thin. But what I do like about it is that it is consistent, and typically has smooth, glossy faces. Some of the other brands I've tried over the years are not as flat/smooth of a finish. I...
  11. Anyone recognize this one?

    Yes sir! Thanks!
  12. Bulk Supplies

You really have to be careful stocking up on colored vinyl especially. The shelf life just isn't long enough to buy a bunch to sit on. I buy real-estate frames, ACM and coro in decent quantities to get a break, but not as much vinyl as I can usually get it pretty fast.
  13. Anyone recognize this one?

I've not found a real close match yet. Anyone know what this is? Thanks in advance
  14. Trying to remove hdu letters from hdu background

I think they had good intentions telling you not to do it. A lot CAN go wrong trying to cut off HDU letters, not to mention if you end up cutting or sawing them off, you are going to have a ton of prep time getting them ready to re-glue. As far as softening the glue, I don't think there is...
  15. Billboard with Aluminum trim?

What the crap did I get into? :banghead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ipXo6cXswk
  16. Billboard with Aluminum trim?

Well... After a couple of phone calls and a bunch of google maps searching, this is not a lamar billboard, rather customer leased, I am allowed to replace the face (I'm not allowed on a Lamar structure, which makes good sense) but I still have to figure out how. That's what I get for not doing...
  17. Billboard with Aluminum trim?

I was trying to save face, but the reason for not wanting to make two trips is I have quoted, and landed the job already. I thought I quoted it high enough to never hear from again, especially when I tacked on the extra money for the travel, but I didn't include two trips. I assumed it would...
  18. Billboard with Aluminum trim?

Someone on here has surely done them I started looking around and I can think of three or four of them within 5 miles from me. Thanks to google maps, because I was about to assume it was like all of the others I have done. Thanks for the replies so far.
  19. Billboard with Aluminum trim?

Hey guys, I've been asked to redo a face in one of these newer billboards and not having seen one up close, I'm wondering how they are installed, and anything I need to know. Such as how much bleed do I need to print, do I even need pole pockets? I'm absolutely clueless on this one. The...
  20. Common signs

I've tried stocking up on parking and real estate signs and it never works out. People always want a different color, a different size, an arrow, or whatever, so these pre-printed signs end up collecting dust. The main thing I try to do to prevent waste is stock up on different size (printer)...
