  1. Rannnnnnnnntttttttttttt

Your sentence in bold really hits home. We get asked to print, and give vinyl to other shops all the time. There are a few other guys who always treat us right and don't abuse the privilege. The rest of em I wouldn't give you a nickel for, and I'm too prideful to ask them for files or vinyl as...
  2. Mounting formed plastic letters to metal building?

Thank you. I knew there was a name. I will look into this method, it's been a while since I have installed any Gemini letters in anything other than brick to be quite honest.
  3. Mounting formed plastic letters to metal building?

Hey guys, just a quick question. I am pricing 2' tall Gemini letters mounted to the front of a metal building with standard metal siding. Not sure of the exact name, but its everywhere, 1 ft centers of the ribs and two small ribs in between the 1 inch main ribs. So my question is as follows...
  4. sp300v wiper help

When you pull the front cover off, you will see a small belt (about 1/8" thick near the bottom with plastic gears. It has brass looking tabs that can be bent a little to add tension to the belt. That's my experience with service call 109. Usually you can turn the machine off, push the head...
  5. Problems with Oracal Vinyl

I can't help you read the serial number or have any comment about the tube difference, but I can tell a difference in the backing paper. The newer Oracal has a much finer print grid and saya Oracal High Performance Cast 751C The older vinyl will have about a 1 inch tall 751C on it.
  6. I hate to ask, but... What is this one?

Thanks! You're a regular ol font god huh?
  7. I hate to ask, but... What is this one?

I found some really close, but not quite. I have other things I need in this font, or I'd just tweak it and go on. Thanks
  8. Help Please! Mount Clear Acrylic Letters to Brushed Aluminum

Lexel is good stuff. I use it in place of silicone all the time. But I agree with Moze that you're probably going to see anything, even if just a little bit. Just remember that you will likely be more critical than they will.
  9. "Invitation to Bid"

This happens to me all the time. Bid something the way THEY spec'd it, and a month later you see the sign and its completely different than what you priced. :banghead:
  10. Cutter tapping and missing in spots

Make sure your .eps margins are also set at .01.
  11. Making signs for state and federal agencies - reflective materials?

Depending on what your specific needs are, sometimes you can order the signs cheaper than you can make them, such as parking, directional, construction etc. If it's custom, I typically cover the background in reflective with cut vinyl on top, or sometimes I print them, in which case I double...
  12. YOUR opinion: Best printer for vehicle wraps.

I too have only replaced one print head in my Roland. A new printer is in my future, and I wouldn't mind to go with another Roland, but I want to learn a little more about the latex printers first.
  13. HDU Signs

I have also used cast vinyl on HDU signs. As long as your prep work is good, I see no reason you can't. I haven't ever cleared over the vinyl either.
  14. The gall of some customers.

I was recently sent a letter from a large company that I work for that wanted me to sign up for a preferred vendors list. They wanted me to pay $600 for a first year and $1200 a year after that. Ummm, NOPE. I'd rather lose their business than take a chance of signing up and not getting enough...
  15. Need Advice on a Printer Purchase....

My thoughts on used printers are as follows: People selling used printers to buy a newer, bigger model have probably run their machine a lot, which is a good thing. People selling printers on craigslist because they thought they needed a printer, probably let their machine go idle a lot...
  16. Plotting from CorelDraw, long plots...

I would give up, but I have run 120-150 inch plots through it in the past when I could control it better. The program IQ Plot from Ioline is designed for a newer plotter, but I was thinking I had found something to change it before, I just can't remember if it was in the way I exported from...
  17. Plotting from CorelDraw, long plots...

Hey Guys, I'm using a dinosaur of a machine, Ioline Studio 8 as my plotter. Back when dad bought the machine new, we used WinPlot, then Cas-mate, and now IQ Plot. When I upgraded computers from XP to Windows 7, I was no longer able to use Casmate, so we started using IQ Plot, exporting PLT...
  18. Stuff you've found while installing

I love finding old footers, road beds and even reinforced concrete pieces in fill dirt when I'm digging holes. But I have found some cool stuff as well. I live in a college town where we have a lot of foreign students come to study, and I was hanging a lighted sign on a building and went to...
  19. Factory Produced Graphics... What brand?

Yeah, walked into that one. My bad guys. The sheen is different than any 3m I've ever had and a different color than oracal altogether. The liner is blank, and while I know all car brands probably use different vinyl, the color has been very close on all of them. The picture I included was...
  20. Factory Produced Graphics... What brand?

Hey Guys, I was wondering what brand vinyl the factory stripes are? Pic is what I'm talking about. Over the years I have put various, factory produced racing stripes on for our local dealers for Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge, and they all appear to be made from the same brand matte black vinyl...
