you can change the black color part to print 100 % black in illy if your using that, not sure if you can in ps, but we've done this in illy before.

yeah, you need to add a stroke to the black. do a couple test prints and see how it turns out as you may have to increase the stroke. choke and spread will do the same kinda thing to. i know it can be frustrating sometimes when this happens!

yeah, i always do the cap tops/wipers etc when i do a manual cleaning. the banner material i'm using at the moment doesn't seem to have many stray fibers on the edges like some of the other brands i have used, but, thats not to say it hasn't picked up anything from the outer edge. your right...

run it into the ground! there great little work horses! i've never owned one myself but i know of several other people who have them and use them all day long. when you need to upgrade your printer for maybe something larger or newer tech, keep this one and use it as a backup machine.

any of you guys collect the toy miniture slot car type toys? i have a friend who needs some advice if anyone knows anything about that type of thing. thought i'd post on here as you never know someone elses hobbies!

i did a manual cleaning again and got my flash light out and had a good look. didn't really see anything but carefully wiped down the sides etc just incase. i'll see what happens. makes sense if there were fluff or something underneath making the ink drop sown randamly.......just didn't see...

i don't think so, its blotchy spots, like ink has accumalated on the head and then just dropped off when it has got heavy enough, at least thats what it looks like.

what? like fluff/crap stuck to the bottom of the heads or something????

i have always done this, and i had just done a good manual cleaning. it is heavy dark ink spots, quite small but there are still there and in random places on the banner. maybe try cleaning again then? could it be something to do with the cap tops? i know you should change the cap tops approx...

i've noticed lately, especialy on banners........that i'm getting very small what looks like dense ink spots in random places on prints. i just did a dark green banner and i noticed it again........looks like very small ink spot/drop out on the green part. the heads are clean as i did a manual...
