would putting the matte clear foil onto the poly material first, then printing maybe work ya think??

so how do i work around it? i want to use a specific material/profile and then use the matte clear......any recommendations fred. thanks for the advice, its very much appreciated!

anyone use the matte clear foil on an fx?? we have tried to use it and all we get is the error message "mismatch foil type" and it will not let us use this at all. any ideas?? its an origanal foil from gerber so not an after market make or anything.

the gerber label stock was the profile i was using as recommended by gerber...but i'm getting a washed out look now also!

we print on metallic silver polyester alot and we need to print multi colors. ever since we have used the polyester, no matter what manufacturer we have used and we have used oracal(orafol), fdc, gerber and avery, all silver metallic polyester material, whenever we print onto it we get major...

agree'd they can be a little on the expensive side, but by the sounds of it a good investment.

so what about xylol? i've used that to clean the dirt/grease/oil from the chain area of the motorbike before a few times, never on paint work though.

what do you guys all use to prep a vehicle before applying graphics? i have been using the rapid tack stuff and was speaking to another sign guy this afternoon. he says he uses xylol and then wipes that down with alcohol solution. is this method any good?

ok, i have a cut alignment problem on my vp540i. i have laminated a print, reloaded it into the printed, done a auto detect on the crop marks....nothing. so i took the lam off over the crop marks incase it couldn't see the marks, again nothing, all i get it crop mark detection error. ok, so i...

well, i ran it through, i had 4 large ovals and the first one was fine, the second, third and forth had some slight creases in them, and there not coming out!! darn it..(putting it politely)....going to have to reprint again tonight and then either hand lam tomorrow morning or spray lam...

ahh, well, unfortunatly, i have to now change from the calendered lam over to the cast lam! so.....just doing that now, and i'm hoping that i can fingers crossed get the 12 ft of digi prints laminated without it screwing it up and having to redo again tonight.

well after trying it one last time......hate to have these things get the better of me! i followed the videos...again...took everyones advice again and tried it....first time i have actually managed to get a print through that thing with out 1 crease! so, am going to try it again a few more time...

just tried again....yet another 20 ft of mat/lam.....just not happening. looks like i'm going to have to hand laminate my digi prints for tomorrow..great!! all 12 foot of them.
