we use the cleaning solution and i have also used alcohol(not the drinking stuff!! lol ) that works to.....

+1 on printing the color chart on any material you intend to use. that way you get to see the colors on the material before you "experiment"

convex do alot of diff thickness' and maybe worth a look. the thickness of the vinyl isn't usually the cause of curling, it's normally ink saturation etc.
