Hi all, Drawing a bit of a blank here as it's not something we do regularly, but we need to add some bleed and contour cut line to a small design we've been provided by a client. Since there is a drop shadow, adding a couple of mm of bleed and adding a cut line isn't as easy as first thought...

I think CMYKEngineering can convert the UV lamps to LED.

Are Digiprint still having issues after the Lexjet takeover? I would have assumed things would have been on the up. We haven't had to order from them in a while so unsure of current conditions.

Did you have the correct roll width set before print? We had this issue on one job last week and turned out the roll width was off by about 5mm so it wasn't printing the full width of the loaded media. Lucky it was just an outline and we could easily trim it by measuring the bleed out with a ruler.

100% agree with peeling off in one continuous motion. Any stops and you will get a faint line there during print (lighter colours mainly). The rolling idea works well as Bly mentions. Other than that, 99.9% isopropyl alcohol is what we buy by the drum for cleaning absolutely everything...

Never heard of a protection fluid. Our UV machine only came with flush and the option of also using isopropyl alcohol to clean the heads. We will swab on some flush if the printer will be left for a few days to keep the nozzles moist so there's less chance of a blockage next time we print.

I don't own a Summa so will just ask a generic question... how is the power quality in your area? Would it be worth installing a UPS to shield the machine from any fluctuations which can sometimes cause "weird" behaviour in electrical devices?

This used to happen on our VS540 as well. Sold the machine before solving the issue.

Epson workflow skips individual channel restrictions and linearisation. It uses onboard RIP to work it all out on its own (or so it was roughly explained to me by our supplier). The most control you have over it is giving it a total ink coverage percentage. Around 80% seems to be the sweet spot...

The Epson workflow is half the work of the Onyx workflow. We have a new media we need to get profiled this week. I could document it if you're that interested.

You can import SVG files into CutServer to do regular cut jobs. Nothing needs to be printed first.
