he also didn't mention the size. :peace!:
  2. Hacked through Wordpress

Anything open source you throw on the web to make your websites is suspect to hacking ... they have the base code to do so. Updating regularly helps, but the only way to get a mostly secure site is to pay for custom coding of a back end. One of the reasons why I sort of dislike web design. I...
  3. Thoughts?

Did you just compare yourself to two famous artists? You sir, are no Dali. Based on what you produced, an appropriate comparison would be the following: http://youtu.be/fLDVaODnJvE
  4. Wacom's Inkling

I generally use my Pandigital Tablet for that, it's an e-reader but they finally gave it android market support and there are a few nice drawing apps on the marketplace for that ... but damn you! It would help with getting your customers sketches into the system for proofing and finalization if...
  5. Before and After Smack Down...

28 years old is a little young for a granny. I'm thinking sorority house mom, with the Gamma Upsilon. Shame too about the sign, like the new design better than just blocked out lettering.
  6. Temporary cut out letters.

He's going to be hard pressed to find anyone who will sub out a pink foam job. It would probably be easier to just get all CNC'd out of nudo or mdo ... can't remember if mdo is paintable though. At the very least, there is always melamie lined ply at your home despot you could take to your cnc...
  7. Work Order Templates?

All my work order forms are pretty much the same as yours. All the important contact information (name of company if applicable, name of person requesting, phone number, address, date, etc) couple boxes for general ordering, a proof spot for a quick drawing, spot for materials customer requests...
  8. Wacom's Inkling

Yeah, it's called potrace. You can find it as part of Inkscape. Best raster to vector trace I've seen for black and white. Until I see that someone who is pen heavy on their actual drawings (like myself) won't end up with blotchy vectors or even digitized drawings I will either leave it to...
  9. Temporary cut out letters.

Maybe a couple hours ... Last time I did this ... took me about an hour to produce 20 characters after I made my stencil. maybe 20 minutes to paint them if you use spray paint.
  10. What cutter to buy

I hear Desay makes a great plotter.
  11. You make stickers, right?

What the crap. That made me snort my coffee out of my nose. :-P
  12. good chrome vinyl for vehicles

It's all pretty much the same in my eyes, I've tried a LOT of brands ... you still have them turn milky and white after a year or three (in the best conditions) ... just get a yard of any brand you can think of, cut the same thing on each yard (and make it pretty difficult) then weed mask and...
  13. Wacom's Inkling

Not feeling it. Like the idea ... but my scanner is less expensive and I'm not too sure if the pressure sensitive pen tip will transfer properly. Think I will wait till maybe the second gen of it to see if it still does things properly.
  14. Logo we just finalized

keep the palm trees ... as someone else said ... just make your own. Not like there isn't thousands of photos of wind blown palm trees to use as reference ... oh wait, there is...
  15. Do you do it before or after lamming?

I do it whenever I want. Bow chicka bow wow.
  16. You make stickers, right?

I normally don't give a flip unless I hear the words "vinyl crap" ... I can't even tell you how much that infuriates me, specifically in the sentence "Hey, tell me about that vinyl crap that you do." or "What do you charge for that vinyl crap?" Makes me want to burn their pets. Now, really the...
  17. which silver look vinyl for acrylic letter??...

Avoid chromes, brushed aluminums and any confetti vinyls pretty much anything polyester. That is ... unless you want it to go milky after a year or so. Ultra metallic silver vinyl might work ... but it will darken with age. I know there is a metallic laminate you can get that is pretty thin...
  18. Temporary cut out letters.

Do it yourself, make a template, trace the template onto pink foam from home despot, carve with one of those craft hot wire foam cutters (looks like a card board tube and a wire) and you are ready to paint or resin coat and paint.
  19. Thoughts?

:clapping: I think I peed myself a little from laughing when I saw this one.
  20. I have to thank other sign shops for the following rant

Oh how I know that to be true. Did a job at an old shop which was just a bunch of 3x3 aluminum signs that we had screen printed to say "Pull alarm in case of fire" and installed 120 of those things around an apartment complex right next to their fire alarms in the hallways ... charged twice as...
