  1. Feedback for customer

Tinker toys. Probably before your time, lol. I'd use something like "sacred geometry", if you are going the linear look - kids these days are eating that up.
  2. Concrete Wall Vinyl

0.040 Aluminum... not worth the hassle.
  3. flower logo

Shot in the dark as to what me think "WTF".... Flower image is kinda phallic. I'll intentionally neglect to post the outline of what they might have seen. PS - most customer dont look at fonts the same way we do... they like the pretty pictures and happy colors. Most can't even tell...

  5. Edge Polishing Komacel (or like)

Have you used this technique before? Decent edges on it?
  6. Edge Polishing Komacel (or like)

We had a customer spec that they need PVC for several 6' tall panels as part of a sign package - problem is, they also specced polished edges. Would be using 1/2" Komacel if we bid it to spec - does anyone know of a way to get smooth edges (like the factory edges on a 49" x 98" sheet") with...
  7. Sign companies raping other sign companies

John - not sure where your at exactly, but $250's a good price here imo. Bucket's aint cheap - honestly, we've paid more than that on the ones 2x little giants can't reach.
  8. Political signs...

A few weeks ago, we lost out on a $17000 polybag job to an out of state union shop, even though they were $1000 more than us.... In all honesty, I never knew there was a "typesetters union", nor that sign shops could be a part of one. *edit* - and because the politician didn't have a...

I think we have a WINNER.
  10. Would you...................

sounds like you are using information he offered (about his other GA) against him. can't hold the customer liable for what the other guy is charging, even if you know his other option is going to charge 4 times as much as you are. That said - our GA is on salary, and if a design job only...
  11. Who needs a BigSqeegee

saw them at ISA last year - had some hotties demoing.
  12. Mounting acrylic laser cut letters to substrate

First of all - I love VHB for acrylic letters, even though it's 3M. Nothing really beats it IMO. Second - One thing we've noted with Gemini is that they redraw most cutfiles, unless you specify that you don't want them to. Had some issues with logos that butt up against each other, but...

simple solution? Dont park your 100k car anywhere near a hurricane.
  14. Quick and dirty logo. Needs critique

  15. Screw you 3M.

In the past? About $2.50. Found out the dealership was making about $3000 for 4 alloy wheels, 2x 6" stripes, and a full roof graphic on a subcompact as an option. Who knows what 3M charged them.
  16. Screw you 3M.

Just got off the line with them. I had called them last week with a question about an MSDS for vinyl, and then followed up with me yesterday. I gave them my opinion on there service on the MSDS, which was fine, and then expanded on that with some of our concerns about OR. Today, they called...

    Banner wrinkles too.
  18. Hanging Sign Hardware

Gyford is a bit pricier, but well worth it. Their ZipLock (c) or w/e system kicks half-breed donkey. Makes install so damn easy.
  19. Screw You Oracal

Ahh, customer service at it's finest.
  20. LOGO help

on number 1, maybe take out the distressed look, make the crossbar a rough wood texture, same color, with a broken stick look at the ends, trapazoidal shaped. Would enhance the outdoor part, but everything else would have to be clean lines to counter the use of a texture.
