I agree, 3 will not look the best, but for this purpose, it's probably the best option.
When I say "semi-permanent" I mean that once the lakes starts freezing (December?) they will put the signs out and then once it start to thaw again (March?) they will take them off for Spring, Summer, Fall.

No, I don't have any issues with pressure. I start with no pressure then up it once the board is in and I roll the board through a few feet to make sure it's not buckling or anything. The worst that has happened is you get some bubbles, I never had any wrinkles or anything like that.
I have the same laminator as Notareal and it works really well for mounting 4'x8' signs - much faster and easier than the Big Squeegee. I also use it for laminating.
