What printer are you using?
It's more accurate to poll the printer than the RIP, but it definitely depends on the equipment. Not all machines will report this info.
Metamark MD3A-B is an excellent all-rounder. We use it as one of our main vinyls.
White point is great, blockout is good, never had a bad roll since we started stocking it.
Matching laminate silvers for the first few days (even with heat assist) however it does go away eventually.
Better off using the LFP accounting tool to pull the real measurements from the printer itself.
Onyx can be all over the place with ink estimations.

No, incorrect... It's propaganda to blame fires on arson (0.03% in Victoria) so they can continue to refute science that shows climate change trends.
According to the RFS (Rural Fire Service) most fires have been ignited by lightning strikes onto very dry land...
I've printed on RTape smooth silver before using a Roland VS-540, let it out-gas for SIX weeks, followed by laminating then cutting and it still curled where it was cut through the bleed.
We got around it by using a UV printer to do the print, instant lamination and cut and no more curling. I...
Are you profiling using the Epson or Onyx workflow?
If it's Epson, the printer is doing the ink limits itself (contone) and you should be skipping that step. It's only required when using Onyx workflow.
What speeds are you running?
I think we're on around 250mm/sec on ours and use all of the rollers (however the middle ones are only set to partial pressure).
Onyx is weird with registration marks and Graphtecs... it certainly prints them out at the intervals requested, but seems to alternate somewhat randomly between reading the outer 4, or every single one of them.
In 2 years I still haven't worked out a common pattern with how it does it.
Not being...
It might be worth printing the Roland color library swatches and match it from there. There might be some odd combination that works.
Should be able to do this from within Versaworks. Can't recall where exactly as I haven't used it in ~3 years but there were several test swatch files built in.
Cheers... haven't seen the sky in weeks (or months?), constant smell of smoke but thankfully impossible to burn at our location (concrete jungle).
We had some very mild rain overnight which should bring temperatures down and hopefully aid in putting out a few fires.
Things are much worse about...
What you need to do is setup the new profile in Onyx all the way up to the swatch generation/ICC import part then save the media type with no actual profile installed.
Go into i1Profiler, generate your patches, save them to TIFF then use Onyx to print them using the new media profile with...
