  1. A sign to ponder?

I regularly go out of my way to go to the LOCAL one-off Mom & Pop stores when I can...most often the lumber yards & hardware stores. Although Home Depot and Lowe's are usually less $$$, they SUCK to shop at!!! Sure, I try to save money when I can, but service also has intrinsic value that...
  2. Trying to figure out what cutter to get.

Definitely NOT the best way to get started...please reconsider this. Either way...Welcome to the board! BTW, I have had the D60 for about 4.5 yrs now with great results.
  3. Triangle inks??

Once you do, you'll wonder why you waited. I didn't wait at all and installed from day one!
  4. VersaCamm pump went bad.... What A Mess! Check Yours.

FYI, the new pumps are no charge even if out of warranty, but you'll get charged for TIME.
  5. wireless on a jv3?

It doesn't have a traditional Ethernet connection? With that you can have nearly unlimited length!
  6. Need Help...want To Order A Computer

Here is one that I configured at Newegg.com...haven't bought it, but put it in a Wish List for future reference. I might suggest using SAS drives for superior performance, but the cost is quite a bit higher for less storage room.
  7. Need Help...want To Order A Computer

Likely don't need a RAID 5 config since it's already on a network. I'd recommend RAID 0 for sheer speed IF it's connected to a reliable network OR the better option is probably just a single SAS 10K or 15K (RPM) hard drive...say around 74GB.
  8. Networking woes

UPDATE...I uninstalled the Network Magic program and all is well now. I'm currently allowing WinXP to assign the addresses via DHCP on the computers, and have hard assigned the printer thru it's own Printserver program. So far so good after a couple of days. Just for kicks, I installed...
  9. Print and Cut Experiments

I like the last one the best, though I'm not 'super' crazy about it.
  10. table top saw?

That is a vertical panel saw, looks to be way different than what he's asking about.
  11. Networking woes

Assuming I get rid of the utility, should I assign hard IP addys or allow them to be assigned via DHCP? Seems like it might be best to hard code them in so as to eliminate that part. Are there any other settings I need to be aware of that could be conflicting with things here?
  12. Networking woes

Maybe I was a little unclear on this. Although the router has the capability of being used as a wireless router, it currently is ONLY being used as a WIRED router...simply because it has 4 ethernet ports already built into it. There are two computers and the printer currently on the network...
  13. Networking woes

Okay, after the problems Flamey was having, I seem to be having trouble of my own now, too. We just moved our shop and have a different network setup. I installed CAT5e cable in the walls, and now have a fully wired network (used to be partly wireless). Before, I had my SP-540V connected...
  14. anyone buy a printer from matt c?

So...free ValuJets for everyone....yeah, let's hear it for Unica...HIP HIP HOORAY! Kidding aside, thanks for some insight Matt. Although my limted view from here lacks the depth of the situation, I truly hope you begin to understand the high amount of grace that has been shown you.
  15. anyone buy a printer from matt c?

No, this guy is legit and is indeed the owner of Art Unica. I've spoken with him personally before, but I s'pose anyone could impersonate another. I don't believe this is the case here.
  16. anyone buy a printer from matt c?

WOW! I had no idea. I contracted with Art Unica [and Matt] to help me learn media profiling. AU sent another representative to actually perform the "teaching" but Matt did swing by just to meet up. I've personally had no problems, but then all I purchased was a service, not physical goods...
  17. Hello & Goodbye

This is as good of a site as you'll likely ever find...LOTS of talent and it's moderated well. Too bad you're willing to pass judgement on the entire community here based on one thread or individual. Really, it's your loss...sorry you feel that way.
  18. anyone buy a printer from matt c?

    I believe S'Rex did...
  19. New to Business (I mean actual business)

I'm currently a Sole Prop, but my CPA has suggested either a LLC or S-corp as our income increases. There's a point where you will end up paying more in taxes as a sole prop than if at one of the other business entities. We are planning to switch over, most likely to the S-corp, for CY 2008...
