+1, most you have to tell them is magnetics are for temporary use only and price for both on the vehicle and on magnetics. Otherwise do the job to the best of your ability.
You can always go the pink foam route ... Back in the day we did a small dimensional lettering job for someone out of that pink foam you get at home despot and used a hot foam cutting tool to shape the letters out of, covered in a coating of fiberglass resin to give a slightly sandable/paintable...
I don't think I ever once mentioned talents ... so much as basic skill (or lack there of) and using the right materials for a job. I actually do know how to hand letter, learned from an old grizzled pro before I entered the sign industry just because I wanted to know how to do lettering on my...
+1 to that. I use it only for window clings (and give plenty of extras) since they will most likely be scraped off by window cleaners before they die, and paint masks. I have 4 rolls of intermediate someone gave to me that are ONLY paint masks because after one year the adhesive doesn't stick...
he's from Fantasia, a 1940 Disney film , he was the giant demon in "Night on Bald Mountain" ... also was in Fantasia 2000 ... but I have yet to see that one.
It's based on number of posts and longevity on the board. Being as I'm a non-premie ... it will go college sophmore, something else, somthing else, certified somthing designer, and then phd.
better part of a decade though to answer your question. And what is wrong with Chernabog? He's the...
75%-95% of my fix jobs come from around the country. The other ones ... I know who they are, and I'm interested in how they actually stay in business with the work they do.
This isn't aimed at everyone ... just ... you know who you are if it is.
Now I really can't remember how many times in the last year alone I've had to replace or fix or correct others shops graphics but COME ON! This last week alone I've had 3 rigs come in who had graphics done by their "local...
must be nice to be a franchise composed of d-bags. (not all of them, but most) ... one around here had to move locations because he kept getting locked out of his shop for non-payment of his lease and was asking other sign shops to buy a foot or two of basic colors like black, red and white.
I would like to start anyone off at $12 an hour, but that would be for trained. Market for someone trained in this area normally starts around $10 an hour, and untrained but going into a position of more than just removal jocky is about $10 as well. Sadly as salmoneye probably knows ... in...
We might be hiring another person just to pick up the slack on all the grunt work ... and I really do mean grunt work (removals, some install, some weeding, inventory, and with the off chance of setting up the plotter for cutting files ... that's it) What would you guys pay a completely green...
I see this all the time ... but on big rigs who go through acid washes with their truck ... the acid turns the edges of prints purple (and can turn the adhesive into an orange paint staining compound.)
When you do buy a printer, fax her a copy of the invoice with an "ATTN: (Name)" and across the middle "This could be your sale, thank you for the good customer service and fast reply." I guarantee you she will get reamed for that since she won't be the first to see it.
Mark up on the prints I get is normally 75% and I add on my design time rate and install time rate for what I expect it to be. I know there are some places that go upwards of 200% but they include install time with that markup. (not including rivet and material prep fees)
well the one you showed wasn't embroidered, it was woven that way. it is also stitched like a tube to allow for a seamless design front and back. pretty much all scarves you get will be like that. embroidery will work, just make sure they also do the seamstress work to make them and quote in...
+1 to that ... finally got one of my domains back after 8 years of waiting for an old crappy host to stop paying for it. Grabbed it again and never looked back.
