  1. IC Check Slot 1 Error

You don't really need to do ink fills, if you run a couple of powerful cleans this should be enough to draw ink through to the heads. You can also check the output into the waste bottle as well then to make sure it is ok
  2. SP-300V scan motor replacement tips

Yes as Jim says, it is a very easy job to do. One other thing is before doing any work on the printer, unplug it from the wall and leave for at least 15 minutes before unplugging anything!
  3. Need Help Red turns to black or dark blue at random

If the black appears randomly I would guess at a mainboard problem. It looks like it is sending the signal to fire the black head instead of the correct one ( or as well as the correct one ). There is no physical reason the printer would do this, and nothing to do with the encoder. The black...
  4. IC Check Slot 1 Error

I have fitted DX4 heads plenty of times without updating the head rank and have never had a problem or seen a difference in colours or print quality. I really think any difference it makes ( if any! ) is so tiny nobody would notice
  5. IC Check Slot 1 Error

I wouldn't worry too much about there not be a heading rank number. The head will still work fine without updating it, but it should have one if it came from them. They seem to be getting second quality heads from somewhere and selling them as perfect.
  6. IC Check Slot 1 Error

OK Digiprint have a track record of selling bad heads, and they refuse to accept them back for returns. What you can do is swap the new head with the yellow/magenta one. If it then prints you know the head is ok, if it doesn't then the it could be a bad head.
  7. Help

Did you check the correct fuse? It is the small one mounted on the mainboard, not the ones to the main power supply. If this is ok, also test the transistors. It could also be a bad head carriage board. When you do a head cleaning are you getting black ink coming out into the waste bottle?
  8. Roland XR-640 story and issues

I would try and salvage the other one first before you fit the new one. You don't want to be running multiple powerful cleanings through the new head if it doesn't need it
  9. Roland XR-640 story and issues

You need to replace both heads. You are never going to get a decent quality print from either of them
  10. IC Check Slot 1 Error

Is the printer giving any other errors? The only two cartridge related ones are either no cartridge inserted, or out of ink. There is nothing else it can sense apart from those. I would lean towards the needle being clogged, or air is getting into the line somewhere. I have replacement complete...
  11. Need Help Roland Truevis VG2-640 - Temp Too High or Temp Too Low Error Code

You can't always see cable damage from the outside as they tend to break internally. You can try carefully removing the cables to the head, checking for any damaged pins, and reseating them. Sometimes this is enough to clear errors. If not I would start with replacing the head cables and see if...
  12. Windows 7 with roland sp-300V

Just create a new folder like in this video. It doesn't matter where it is, you just need somewhere to extract the files from the ISO to. Once they are extracted to that folder, you then run the SETUP.EXE from within that folder
  13. Windows 7 with roland sp-300V

He shouldnt need to. The ISO file is just a compressed version of the standard installation disk ready to burn. When extracted it is exactly the same as the normal installation disk and will run from the setup file.
  14. Windows 7 with roland sp-300V

No, just the desktop icon isn't installing it. Make a new folder called Versaworks and extract the ISO file to there. You should end up with a list of folders and files as shown on the attached pic. You will see a file called SETUP.EXE - use this to install it and it will take you through the...
  15. Windows 7 with roland sp-300V

You just need to unpack the file using a program like winzp. Unpack it to a new folder on your pc and then use the steup.exe file inside that folder to fully install versaworks. It sounds like you haven't installed it but are just trying to run it from the compressed file. It needs to be...
  16. Windows 7 with roland sp-300V

Use an extractor program like winzip to unpack the iso file onto your computer, then just run the setup from there. An ISO file is a disk image, but you don't need to actually burn a DVD for it
  17. XR-640 nozzle issues

Ultrasonic cleaning will destroy the heads, so dont do it. To be honest I dont think you are ever going to get it running well enough to produce decent print unless you change the heads
  18. Need Help SP-540V printhead issues

The two fuses are the small surface mounted ones on the mainboard. One controls each head.
  19. Need Help SP-540V printhead issues

The head ranks don't make any difference. If the fuse blows nothing will print at all, not partial print like you are getting there on the black. It is possible the yellow/magenta fuse has blown, which would stop that head printing anything. if your 540 hasn't printed for a long time chances...
  20. Roland OEM Parts

Don't buy heads from Digiprint! They have a track record of selling bad heads lately and refuse to refund for them. I second Ernie, he has a great reputation
