I just put Comic Sans on a sign for a child care center the other day, and laughed while I did it. Then the project manager came back and said they approved it lol. I hope someone gets a laugh when they see the sign.
We would use aluminum square tubing for the frame and posts. 4"x4" for the posts, and 1"x1" for the frame. Then use aluminum composite panel for the face, and put vinyl graphics on, printed or cut. But I agree the example sign was put together with whatever the person could find at hand.
I don't know when I will need it, but that Harley Davidson brand standard is going to come in handy at some point. And now I won't have to look for it, thank you lol.
What rabbit hole do you keep jumping into to find these charts?? Lol I need to get you with the head of my vinyl department, you'd be to peas in a pod.

I don't think you are going to find much of Steam Boat Willie in the sign industry. Sure there will be a handful of people that end up printing him for some various job or another. But the fact that he is hitting the public domain really has very little impact on what most of us do day to day. I...
That sounds like a pretty easy permit to get. We have a contract with Walmart, and they are requiring permits at the beginning of each project. I don't even know how many small towns I've had to get licensed in, just to pull permits. I get the week and half is a bit excessive, considering the...
I hope you like remaking people's logos! Because it never fails that someone will bring you a low quality JPEG or PNG file, and want it blown up to be put on a sign. This isn't like web design, signs are big and require vector artwork to replicate what you show on the computer. I get use to...
