I do this all the time. I love it. I am a small one person shop with 1 - 15 needle embroidery machine - 1 - 24" cutter & 1 - 30" print/cut (newest piece of equipment). Some of the customers are from years ago and some of he customers order the same 2 - 4 items per year.

Name drops are the way to go. Each software calls it something different. Some software can import an excel spreadsheet. But I personally only embroider name drops in groups of 5 or 6. Then I know for sure the right name goes on the right size - sometimes I even have different color...
