  1. Window Perf AKA View-Thru vinyl - brand reccomendations?

I just tried the Solvex for the first time. Printed great and laid better than the Oracal we've been using. However, I can't say much for the long-term durability. Not that you should expect anything "long-term" from perf anyway. I probably wouldn't have tried it, but... My sales rep at...
  2. Seal Image 62 Base

I think I remember paying a little over 10k for ours and it was brand new. What are they asking for it?
  3. Camo a truck like Duck Dynasty

Not a big fan of camo, but we take business just about any way we can get it if it's profitable. I agree on the designs being boring, though. However, we are in the middle of a job for the NG Marksmanship Team that is turning out pretty cool. They gave us some design freedom with it, so long...
  4. Seal 54 Base

Cold lam for the win! Seriously, though... I don't know what all you laminate in your shop, but we run the gamut of sign-related laminations, and I can count on one hand how many times I've had to turn the heat on this year.
  5. Seal 54 Base

Sounds like a pretty costly fix to me... I hope I'm wrong.
  6. Harsh week

Best wishes to Rick. Hate to hear it.
  7. help with my dad

    Hahahahaha amazing.
  8. Fellers

re: "Russian Roulette" Hahaha I agree that Feller's is awesome in every way imaginable. I was merely pointing out that his "Russian roulette" comment was somewhat morbid in a rather hilarious way. ETA: Forgot to mention... They pulled that gem off of their phone server. It was worth a few...
  9. Fellers

I should clarify something so that my previous post isn't taken the wrong way... I definitely think Frank is a nut, so I will certainly not be retracting my statement. However, I've been called a nut as well, so no problems there. And Feller's is great to deal with. They stock quite a bit...
  10. helmet wrap

Excellent job. Did you use the barrel technique?
  11. Quality Installers?

Haha well, it's hit and miss at times, but I guess we've been lucky. A lot of times, it's the ones you least expect!
  12. Quality Installers?

I think we've pretty much given up on trying to find guys that can come in and handle our big jobs without any direction from us. We have found it more useful in the long run to hire guys with common sense and a good work ethic, regardless of their experience. Everything else can be learned.
  13. Fellers

Phone calls > emails. Terms > credit cards. Also, does anyone else 'LOL' whenever they're on hold and hear the Cowboy talk about how it's like playing "Russian Roulette" when dealing with other distributors? Seriously, that guy is a nut.
  14. How to ruin a $65k Car?

Install looks great from where I'm sitting! That pattern, however... Ugh. I'm not above a digital camo wrap, but it could have been much better if... Well, I won't even state the obvious here.
  15. Avery 700 Metallic Gold Vinyl

Have you tried flipping it face-down and pulling the backing off at a sharp curl? Hell, did that even make any sense?
  16. Complex Contour Cuts

I've never had this problem? And my production machine is pretty modest, using only about 8GB of memory and an AMD Phenom II X4 805 quad-core processor. Do you experience this when only running Flexi?
  17. Install printed clear vinyl on 2nd surface of clear acrylic

JoeBoomer, Have you considered using the lam rollers as your hinge? I know this can be a problem if you're working with small substrates, but for larger ones, it is simple to manage. One thing to consider, though... A lot of laminators build up a lot of static and attract dust, making it...
  18. Instant One Media?

Very interesting. I may have to buy a roll to try out for some internal work. Oh and for what it's worth, the number is indeed posted on their site. I found it on the About Us page.
  19. why have I been using medium tack premask all these years?

We stock PerfectTear Plus. It's only pennies more than the regular PerfectTear, but you get better transfer and far less wrinkles.
  20. What does everyone else think?
