Hey Y'all, Today I mistakenly cut some decals in 751 rather than 651 and thought "ah well they'll work".. After all I was applying to a glass door and an aluminum blank. Holy Hell it went south. I dry applied one glass door. It bubbled like hell and I had to scratch the install. I then wet...

  5. Vehicle Wraps on race car gelcoat and or primer

I can't comment on the installation over primer specifically because I've never done it but coming from my body shop days there is a distinct difference between primer and sealer. Usually both gray in color and a lot of the time confused with each other, sealer is made to seal the body work...

  14. Oracal 3850 - Best method of installation to Polycarbonate

So I called Oracal and they suggested either lightly wetting it or using a laminator dry... I think I am leaning toward using the laminator dry.. Am I crazy?
  15. Oracal 3850 - Best method of installation to Polycarbonate

Well I have to say this is my first time working with 3850 and apart from it being VERY sensitive to contaminates I generally like it. I was messing around with a piece of scrap material and noticed that the adhesive is VERY tacky on new polycarbonate. I tried using some fluid which produced...
  16. Vinyl Banners: Stitch, weld, what?

I print the smaller banners up to 10-12ft and sub out the enormous stuff. To answer your question though, I use welding tape on all the banners I produce except flagpole banners which I use 18oz block out and have a local upholstery guy double stitch them. If you aren't confident in your...
  17. Laminating Oracal 3651

Cold is fine. It might silver a little but it will go away after a while.. Heat will help the silvering a bit but too much heat will cause problems. Just go cold.
