I can't comment on the installation over primer specifically because I've never done it but coming from my body shop days there is a distinct difference between primer and sealer. Usually both gray in color and a lot of the time confused with each other, sealer is made to seal the body work...

Cold is fine. It might silver a little but it will go away after a while.. Heat will help the silvering a bit but too much heat will cause problems. Just go cold.
