Anybody use World Wide Sign Systems? What do you think, we tried them for the first time and I am not so sure I like them very much. Two channel letter sets on raceways came in, both damaged. Mostly from shipping but some looked like mishandling in the shop. Instead of replacing the damaged...
About six months ago they tried to put up one up a huge programmable led cabinet to replace the same pylon sign in the picture. Programmable led signs aren't allowed here. Apparentyly they thougtht they wouldn't get caught but didn't even get it off the ground before the zoning officials...
We have a place around the corner that had new faces made for their pylon sign. We watched the installers struggle about half a day to get them in because the made them too big. So instead of bringing a saw and cutting the faces down to fit they crammed them into the retainers and screwed them...
To be a bit more concise, I didn't notice the color was wrong until I had printed everything and started the wrap. Haven't had this problem since I started here until now and will be going outside to check from here on out. Not a question of laziness, more of a lack of experience and learning...
You are correct. Our customers generally just want a color close to what they pick. This was one of the few custom matches we do and I have only been running the printers a couple years now. This is the first project for outdoors with any color issues until now. Thanks everybody for the...
Thanks, I suspected that was the case. I have been lobbying to get new bulbs that emulate the sunlight spectrum at least for the print room. The boss isn't thrilled about the cost but a couple more fiascos when we forget what happened today and maybe we will.
yeah, we just did a truck wrap that was yellow and black. It looked great in the shop, perfect match. The second I started I was horrified to see that the yellow turned green. Took a picture and sent it to the client and at first they were OK with how it looked in the photo. When they showed...
When I started many years ago it was always height then width. Now it doesn't matter but I still do it that way but I do use H and W in my templates.
My theory is that as the old school generations retired the new incoming youngsters didn't care much for tradition. Plus most of them were...
I have a client that needs to match existing signs on the building. At first glance they look like a cast plaque from Gemini. On inspection they are engraved then the engraved part is painted gold and filled with a clear epoxy giving and embossed appearance. If anybody has a suggestion I...
My personal favorite is when they tell you what it should say but to design it however you see fit because you are the expert. Then are still unhappy five revisions later because they don't like anything you show them even after they decide to give their two cents and suggest changes.
Does anybody have a source for having channel letters made from tracings of original faces. I used to do this in house when I worked at a much larger shop. Not currently set up to do this here and am having a bit of sticker shock with my usual suppliers quote.
I keep getting emails for this one, it is used and slightly above budget. But it is a lot of machine and if in good condition a great deal. Any reputable dealer can take the serial number and give you maintenance records...
Does anybody have a recommendation for a channel letter wholesaler. We have one that is well priced but somehow manages to make a crappier sign with every new order. They recently expanded and training was their excuse for a while which is interesting because now they take even longer than...
