Being motorised, that'll give you both hands to control the work going through, and allows for lamination and bulk prep of substrates.
Down side is it is limited to a fraction over 1/4" substrate, should you ever need thicker.

I've seen no drop in image quality (and really picky clients) by setting up the media correction in Fiery. We run a whole bunch of papers from matt bond 80gsm to 340gsm thick art papers. You already have all the data you need to make the correction (input size 120", output size 119 5/64th")...
I think it's not too different to the auto tracing in Illustrator - get the settings right, and you can get a good output from a web grab logotype. Just that GP can be very slow, and I've not yet found the fine manual to read.
We print aqueous (Canon 8400) and mount onto DiBond. Mostly, work flow is cut DiBond 2-3mm smaller than the print, then mount on laminator and trim down. Many of the (art) papers are very fragile, and it is the sharp scalpel cut from the back, on a cutting mat. On occasions, we've had to trim...
