  1. New RIP machine....Windows 7????

The sp300v only has one usb port......no ethernet. That's why I was told my model won't work without a windows 7 usb driver.
  2. New RIP machine....Windows 7????

Hi Barbie, Yes, I print and cut straight from corel to versaworks. This new computer has been a mess. It took them a month to build it and supposedly ship it. It didn't show up, called them and they had lost my order. Finally it shows up, I get all my programs loaded, and the hard...
  3. New RIP machine....Windows 7????

It might depend on your printer. I just got a new 7 machine, but because my sp300v only has usb connectivity, there isn't a driver for 7 yet. Supposed to be one available sometime around April. I can load versaworks in 7, but can't install the print driver. Till then, I'm having to run...
  4. Versaworks with Windows 7-no preview windows

I just went through this with a new computer, and trying to network computers, printers, at the same time. I could get versaworks to load in 7, but could not get the print driver installed for my sp300v in windows 7. I was told that there isn't a usb print driver yet for my printer...
  5. usb not recognized

just wondering.....if your os is windows 7 you may need a different driver, and they may not have one for it yet. Just ran into this on my SP300 Roland and new computer with windows 7 pro. No windows 7 driver for it yet, so I had to install it by way of virtual pc loading the driver in xp...
  6. Fountain fill = thousands of lines??

Hi Sherry.....Phillip is right on. If this is a file you will use occasionally, you can fix it in Corel and it will stay fixed. Open the file in Corel, and recreate the circle over top of the original broken gradient. Delete all the broken parts, and add the gradient to your new circle...
  7. Vinyl Express GRC61 plotter driver

I'm on my second GRC-61 cutter and it's hooked up usb. First one was struck by lightening. Mine is hooked up to xp with a serial to usb converter cable that I got from signwarehouse. It has worked fine for about eight years with no problems. I'm also using LXI 6.6 v1 software with usb...
  8. corel convert to flexi

I've tried the copy/paste, but the lines sometimes get whacky. I keep all my original files in Corel format. What works for me is to convert all to curves, no outlines, and export from Corel as an .ai version 1.1 to the desktop. Just import the .ai file into flexi When done, delete the...
  9. need info on ink for plasic like screen printing on pens

Glad it's not just me.... Had a pad printer at my old job, tried to use it 8 or 10 times. Never ever got it to print right. I know it was getting the ink just right, or something I was just doing wrong. But I'm pretty sure it's still settin' in a corner somewhere too. Maybe we could...
  10. Profanity on wraps???

I would pass on this job too, but I'm sure there are plenty that would do it, take the money, and not feel bad at all about it. Just my beliefs and ethics I guess. Like seeing the sack of nuts hanging from truck hitches. Not what I want to see around town with my 89 year old mom in the...
  11. NEED: HP 5000 UV Media Advice

I searched several years ago for a decent vinyl for the hp. Tried some majic products, not sure if it was the same one you liked. Found a lot of brands would last 3-6 months and start splitting. The only one that worked well for me was 3m8522, and the matching laminate. > >...
  12. Width cutting issue on SP-540

Is this a vector or rastor file? If it's a rastor file it might be the edge of the bitmap, so you could probably crop it and be ok. If it's a vector file, look at it in wireframe mode, there may be a hairline border there or something. Are you printing and cutting....or just cutting?
  13. SP-300 - adjusting height of heads for banner material?

Hi Sherry, I don't beleive there is any head height adjustment on the sp300. I would stop using this material until you figure out the solution. Head strikes are bad, and the heads are expensive. Sounds like the printer may be stopping when the rollers hit a grommet? If so, you may...
  14. Changeable Coroplast Signs... any suggestions

I made something very similar a few years ago for a mall....but it's indoors. I used the clear protective pouches you put in a binder, and cut off the three holes. Put mounting film on the back of the clear pouch and stick it to the board. Print a nice adhesive backed trim frame for around...
  15. sp300v internal error 0100442

Roland sp300v I just got this "internal error 0100442" message, and can't find it in the manual. Anyone know what it is? It's done it twice on this one print/cut file in the last few minutes. It only gets to print the first set of crop marks...and then beeps. Hopefully it's just a bad...
  16. Professional Signs With A Sharpie

Wow.....after makin' about three of those $1.99 coro signs, the machine's wore out. That machine needs a bulk ink system, like a 5 gallon can of red exterior latex hangin overhead, with a hose runnin' to that sharpie.
  17. banding on gradient prints

If you're art was made in Corel, you can increase the fountain steps of the gradient which will smooth it out some. Also exporting to a bitmap and printing that may help.
  18. large scanner

If you take the photo from a distance and zoom in....seems to help reduce the distortion you can get from a close up shot.
  19. Coroplast Edging

If you're doing a lot of them, I've used this edging before. http://www.proedgesystems.com/products.php?sub=4 Seems like they also have or had a rubber type edging. You won't want to spend much on dressing up coro. If it's outdoor stuff, you will need a glue to keep it on. It this is like...
  20. What can I do with an Epson Stylus Pro 7800?

You probably need to encapsulate the print outdoors so moisture can't get in. Leave about 1/4" of laminate off the print so it seals the edges down.
