posters we print on a paper stock, no particular brand what ever is cheapest but we don't do much of that. i believe it's a 6 mil material.
as far as cart stock we don't put anything thicker than .010" through our roll printers. business cards we print on our flatbed UV machines
isn't out-gasing just when you have to laminate? if it's not laminated then it will just outgas.
i guess if you want to be safe let it sit for a few hours before you put it in the stand but i print, trim and mount banners in banner stands a lot with no issues

you need to get a wide roll so it covers the whole surface this way you don't get the lines/shadows from the tape. it is probably over kill and will raise the cost of the job but that's the correct way to do it
normally for something like that i would use 3M IJ180Cv3, that's what we stock for wraps and long term printed vehicle or sign graphics.
if you are printing the logo just print/lam/cut the whole job and supply in one piece for install
i will say for just cut vinyl i use both 651 and 751...
definitely need to use polyester for the high temps unless the location of the label doesn't get hot then vinyl should be fine.
if the customer is using this for their own personal use probably doesn't matter but if this is for a contractor there may be specifications required for a label on the...
i have used velcro for step and repeat banners with no issue. wrap the banner over the top cross pole of the frame and attach it to itself with the velcro. but like already mentioned it depends on the use and size of the banner
weeding cut lettering at small sizes just sucks no big magical way to get it done. it's just labor plain and simple.
we generally try not to do anything smaller than .5" high but have done on some occasions .375" and even .25".
if it's a small qty i will cut and then put application tape on it...
have had issues in NYC also. had one job i showed up with my insurance cert and they required some other stupid liability things, the building manager wouldn't let me do the job. the job was installing some 3" x 10" logos on the glass doors and wall outside the elevators for safety so people...
job can vary based on the colors and how they are laid out but generally i will install on site.
we do a lot of nbc vehicles and i made a template out of removable vinyl to lay the feathers of the peacock out correctly

some of the customers are clueless. i think what drives me nuts anymore is the deadlines. we do a lot of work for different events. everything from bat mitzvahs to the NBA all-star game and all of these events they know about months in advance but we are getting the job and art like a week...
never had any luck with any of the vinyl off type products. always just heat (torch or heat gun) and elbow grease then adhesive remover for the glue.
or i use the vinyl zapper vinyl remover wheel
