  1. Minimum Charges

I implemented a minimum fee and did so just by figuring out the time it takes me to setup the simplest of jobs, cut it, weed it, mask it, apply it and do the billing. For me there is no difference in the time it takes to do a 6" x 6" sign as it does a 24" x 24" sign. Material costs are minimal...
  2. Anyone using solar to power their home or business?

Good point! When I looked into this a few years ago there were few if any incentives to installing any alternative energy sources except for being "green" or "off the grid".
  3. Anyone using solar to power their home or business?

I looked into this at one point for my home and unless you are an electrician you will more than likely need someone to install (or at least hook it up to the house wiring). However I think you will find the ROI on this type of investment very low based on your location. I am in Ohio and the...
  4. Newest High Tech Sign & Installation!!

    That's what you call 'repurposing'!
  5. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

I think you are kind of stuck with what you if you have already cut the shape of the boards. One alternative to the brackets pictured is to use quarter round trim material (like you would use around your base boards in your home, they make these out of plastic now which is very nice) and build...
  6. Football!!

Careful how cocky you get with that. I remember just 4 years ago they had the same things going for them and lost to Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game! Sorry, I have to live in the past right now as the present is pretty bleak but still am and always will be a die hard Steelers fan...
  7. Embellished Fonts?

    Bump!
  8. Embellished Fonts?

Anyone know where I can find a font or graphic of upper case letters similar to the attached picture with the embellishments? TIA

  10. Oracal 638 Wall art

You might want to check your number again. I have been looking for a similar product and the only thing Oracal offers for this application is a 631. There is a 3628 Inkjet vinyl from Oracal, but that is for printing wall art. I did a search of the Oracal website and found nothing for 638.
  11. Font ID Please!

    Anyone know this one? TIA
  12. a proposed yard sign

I do tons of these signs for apartments and I always tell the customer that someone driving by only has 2 seconds to read the message, anymore and it is a waste. I have always used this rule of thumb when designing yard signs, unless you know the people are walking by or driving very slowly...
  13. Clipart Needed to Match This...

I have a customer who has the image below on their website but don't know where the image within the top arc came from. They now want a sign with this clipart or something similar. Does anyone recognize or know where I might obtain this or a similar image? Please keep in mind that I would...
  14. Where to buy Magnetic Dry Erase Boards

Buy the size you need in steel and then apply dry erase over that. There are a number of MMs here that can do printed vinyl with dry erase laminate or you can get straight white dry erase vinyl.
  15. Wrap Proof. need to add...

Like it just the way it is! I see too many wraps anymore where they include a laundry list of things they do and the important stuff (phone, website, etc.) gets lost in the message. Remember that if you are moving and the viewer is stationary they only have 2-3 seconds to read your message.
  16. I need RAID explained simply please.

In a nut shell RAID allows you to spread data across two or more HDD for various reasons, usually either speed or data protection. While not a requirement it is usually suggested that you use the same size (and the same brand) of HDD for all drives in the array. While there are 7 or 8...
  17. Corner protectors for Coroplast?

I typically do this simply by folding some cardboard around the corners of the CoroPlast and taping into position.
  18. Saving as a pdf from flex 8

Not sure if this applies to Flexi 8 (I am still using 7.6) but when I need to do a PDF I have a template with a border and some company info. When I select the Apply Template button and select the template I created everything within the file is shown within the template scaled as large as...
  19. Graphtec cutter - WTF is *that* all about

For your cutting issue make sure a small piece of vinyl hasn't snuck its way up into the knife housing. This happened to me once and thankfully was easy to spot as it was neon vinyl. The adhesive on the vinyl was keeping the knife from going down and coming up when it was supposed to and I...
  20. TrimKut Cutter Opinion

Bump, hope someone has some info on this.
