  1. Need Help How to Clean Retro-Reflective Vinyl before printing

T6500 isn't for use with solvent printers, it's designed to be screen printed.
  2. Happy Halloween everyone

Town I live in is small, we live out on the edge of town, so we usually get none. I buy a big ol' bag of peanut butter cups just in case, guess they're all mine again ;)
  3. Fabric Awning Install on Corrugated Metal Bldg

You could try foam sealing strips between the upper support and the siding. They're available for most standard profiles/ brands of steel siding & roofing, mainly used for sealing ridge caps. They're sealed in place with a butyl caulk or butyl adhesive strips. They look like this... Something to...
  4. Printing Translucent to keep the reflective.

The only printers that have any issues like that are UV printers because the curing lamps can reflect back onto the print head and cure the ink on the head. Even with those it's more an issue with highly reflective materials like printing on mirrors and chrome surfaces, not reflective vinyls...
  5. US Cutter Plotters

I don't use it, but this list of Flexi compatible cutters shows a ton of UScutter devices, don't know about 7.5 https://thinksai.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411556318356-Cutter-Compatibility-List
  6. US Cutter Plotters

These are entry level, very basic. If you look at the specs, they don't even have the sensors to read registration marks for print/ cut.
  7. Just In Shoutout to Indriani Tia for a new world record!

    That's insane. Ignored...
  8. ISO 60in inexpensive bond paper with 3in core

Big Systems is where we get it from. They have a decent selection of 60", and I think all but one flavor comes on a 3" core. They're out of the Milwaukee area, so not that far away from you, probably worth giving them a call...
  9. Small wrap shop ready to upgrade printer, advice

Solvent is the way to go in my opinion, waiting for it to outgas is just something you calculate into your workflow. I agree with what White Haus said, the extra colors aren't always wort the sacrifice, while it'll give you a wider gamut, some fade extremely quick out in the sun. I ran Rolands...
  10. What to pay a Print shop manager?

Don't know your situation, or the skill level of what you already have working for you, but why not put one of the two you have now in charge? That way you just have to negotiate a raise to go with the added responsibility, you can title it however you (or they) want, manager, foreman...
  11. Out of ink, is there a way to cut?

Like desktop all-in-one printers, some you can't even scan documents to your computer without ink. They all find a way to get into your wallet
  12. Royal Sovereign closes doors.

I know they've been having financial issues for a while.
  13. Need a lighted sign box - where to start

All fast highways for all but the last 30-ish miles. We're out in her area quite a bit, have a big install in progress about that far from her, gotta wait for the rest of the concrete to get dumped next week to finish. We do about a 200 mile radius.
  14. Need a lighted sign box - where to start

+1 for everything JBurton said. Get multiple quotes, there's quite a range between places. Whenever we can, we get them complete, lettered, and ready to install. Then it's a pass it on, or hang it, and collect a check. The only pain for you will probably be when they deliver it if you don't have...
  15. Need Help Has anyone ever approached their City Council to review and change a city ordinance for sign placement?

You can often get away with vehicles sitting on private property. We have a meat company in an outlying city, we did 8 of these vintage trucks for them over the past decade. They're parked in various locations along roads & highways leading into town. They probably pay the property owners in...
  16. Xc540 error

When you get it working again, let us know what it turned out to be... We're all nosy like that.
  17. Xc540 error

If you didn't damage the encoder, check the clamp that attaches the carriage to the scan cable, make sure it's tight and not slipping. Sometimes a quick stop under power can cause it to slip, if it keeps slipping it'll cause that error too. Remedy is just re-tighten the screws, then run the...
  18. Laminating Bubble Issue

Sounds like you found the cure. Too much heat can cause the adhesive to release from the laminate, they all have a temperature sweet spot, just like pressure, tensions, how you feed. Lots of variables that can cause problems with laminating, and every one is kind of unique. Glad to hear you...
  19. Aircraft graphics

Good call... There's a big difference in regulations with different classes of planes. Small private low altitude prop planes, even helicopters are less strict, but even with them you want to make sure your butt is covered. When you get into high elevation jet aircraft with pressurized cabins...
  20. Colex Media Feed Roll Setup

Should have told the tech you want royalties if they use your idea:toasting:
