We had one of those... Threw it out 10 years ago. We used it as a plotter also. Replaced it with the designjet 110. Still going strong today. Not much use for a 450 these days. Unless you got an old win 98 system laying around. Due to lack of USB or RJ45 connections. We had issues with ink...
The cheapest you can get by is by media blast then epoxy primer. Then wrap.
The best way is to media blast, Etch, epoxy prime then a good single stage paint like PPG DCC in white, then wrap. the 30 day cure time is right on the money, Obey that rule.
all else fails sand down prime and paint...
The pick 6 deal was a steal at 250 but now they raised it to 295 still not a bad price you just have to get bundle packs and not the individual graphics.
You need to apply for each college you wish to print most all schools have different pricing and you will need to show them proofs and finished product before they will allow you to use the logos. You will also have to pay a small royalties advancement.
expect to pay 2-5k for each school...
+1 100% bogus claim. Unless it was dragged behind the UPS truck the entire way but still no chance of damaging cables. I think we need pictures of box when it arrived to son. But I'm sure the son cannot provide any pictures. Invoice does not even have a logo just generic Excel/Word template.
I say why not get out the DA sander and with some 240,320 600grit smooth it down shoot some sealer and wrap away.. You can worry about painting it after the wrap is removed.
also if you hit metal it would be advised to Etch then prime then seal then wrap.

Do you have a local motor rebuild shop? If it's a brushed motor they can true up the comm and put new brushes in it for ya or maybe just call Nidec directly and have them cross it to a useable motor.
Nope I have an HP latex machine.
I would do more research you would rather buy a printer for 5k+ with a DX5 print head. Than a newer technology printer that uses a DX7 print head for less money.
the parts for the banner jet were crazy cheap so you could stock everything you need if it breaks...
If you really want to buy a imported printer from China take a look at a banner jet 1671 it's $3200. Includes RIP and one set of 1 liter inks. And has a DX7 head you can get it shipped to your door for under 5k. Keep on researching.
A new 1.6m banner jet runs for around 5k shipped(includes rip and one set of inks) from china also spare ink was priced at $20.00 per liter. I was very close to purchasing one of these but I wanted to use Caldera as a RIP but they did not support that particular printer so I went a different...
