  1. RSC-1401HW Laminator just beeping when powered up

Try removing and replacing the infeed table. There's a sensor on there that will sometimes not be engaged by the table. Good luck.
  2. Dry time before cutting?

As I said, there are a lot of variables. I'd do some quick tests. Try a line of stickers with no dry time - just print/cut at the same time. Let is sit for a few hours or overnight and see how it looks. The try it with 1 min, 3 min and 5 min dry time P and C - you'll have to set this up in...
  3. Dry time before cutting?

This will be very media dependant as well as artwork dependant as well as profile dependant, but you'll probably want to add some dry time to this job maybe 1 - 3 minutes The solvents in the ink act directly on the vinyl itself. If you're cutting into black ink (usually the heaviest ink load)...
  4. Need help- square grunge type font

I don't know fonts, but Squared Up in a circle?
  5. Versaworks question

Go to the Queue Default properties for your printer, Cutting Options tab and set it to print only. Marks tab - turn on Crop Marks. You'll have to drag the job down to your cutter queue to cut the file, but that's how I'd do it. Good Luck
  6. Suggestions Roland BN-20 reviews and comments

Hey Jim, The print quality on the BN-20 is superb. You'll notice a difference there from your SP. Also print and cut in one machine, if you don't need high production is very convenient. As Saturn mentioned, media availability is somewhat limited in the smaller sizes. 54" has by far the...
  7. Epson S60600 Ink Durability

Hey Glavin, I think that while most inks are pretty UV stable any more, they all recommend lamination if the print will be subject to abrasion. As to whether or not either of those meets your needs, you should ask for print samples off of any machine your considering and do some scratch tests...
  8. White ink on Epson s80600

This is all pretty subjective here. Your best bet would be to ask a dealer for a sample print of what you're looking for. And while they're at it, ask them to time the print so you know how long it takes to get the results you're seeing. Good Luck
  9. HELP! Need advise ASAP: Have to (physically) move printer to a new shop - any special steps?

    1. It's recommended by the manufacturer 2. It prevents the head from coming loose and crashing into the other end 3. It keeps ink from leaking out the bottom of the print head. Better question would be "Why not lock the print head for a move?" A lot of people ride motorcycles without helmets...
  10. JV3 160s gray coming though with magenta stripes?

I don't know Mimakis, but it looks like your vinyl is tunneling in the print zone. A couple of places are high enough to get head strikes. This is throwing off your bi-directional and horizontal calibrations so ink isn't going where it needs to. Try decreasing print temps if you can. Good luck
  11. Profile for xc540 or xj540 for Onyx.

The Onyx Printer & Profile Download manager is packed with about 45 profiles for an XC-540. Do none of those work for you? What vinyl are you using? Joe
  12. Gerber Edge LE printer driver needed

That's a windows driver, not a Gerber Driver. It's been so long I can't remember, but you also need to configure the parallel port correctly in the Bios. Any more we recommend the Gerber USB to Parallel adapter, but you would still need to upgrade your Omega to be compatible with that option.
  13. Print Quality Perforated Vinyl (Mimaki CJV-30)

Hi Yor, The problem is that your missing 30 -50% of your color due to the holes. Also, when placed on a window this equates to adding 30 - 50% black into your image. It's tough because you really can't create a profile for that material. Others on here may have a formula for getting...
  14. Roland XJ-740 bearing issue - need advice

Roland only sells the bearing blocks and rail as a complete assembly. They calibrate the bearings to the rail They don't sell the bearing blocks separately. If it's a Roland tech that gave you the first quote, that's the option that he has. If you can find the bearing blocks available...
  15. Small rant

Don't you know? They used all the fonts...
  16. Sign Application Table

I'm thinking that he currently uses a laminator and needs 8' on each side of the laminator to support the board. I've see that set up in many shops.
  17. If you are a Flexi ICC profile making wizard please read and respond

There is some voodoo involved in creating profiles and it takes a bit of experience and training to get what you want when creating profiles. Discussing profile creation via text or even on the phone is difficult to do. So, whatever I may say should be taken with a grain of salt. If you're...
  18. Sheet Cut

Big Easy has it. (Most likely). The mechanism is similar to some cabinet catches where you press in and it stays in, you press in again and it pops out. When it's in, it will link the sheet cut mechanism to the pen block and both will go up and down. When the mechanism is out, the two are...
  19. Need Help How do I make my own profiles?

It does create a full ICC profile, but it is definitely entry level quality. You don't have too many options that you can customize it with, like black generation, etc. My current demo is a 335, so I don't have one to play with right now or I'd run through a profile just to refresh my memory...
