  1. ROLAND BN20 WITH WHITE INK

In general, and there are exceptions to the rule, it's a bad idea, especially on a BN-20. If you were talking a high production environment where you used white all the time, with a high production machine (here's where the BN-20 does not qualify) it makes sense. Printing with white will cut...
  2. Need Help How do I make my own profiles?

Actually, the HP L365 has an onboard spectrophotometer and the smarts to create full blown ICC profiles right on the printer itself. It is pretty painless to create them and other than having someone onsite to show you the YouTube University is a great way to learn. It will take a couple of...
  3. Discussion Which printer do I buy?

You'll need to get with your landlord and a qualified electrician for this (don't trust your brother-in-law's cousin Eddie for this job). This is probably the biggest objection to HP Latex that we run into. Your dealer should give you a site survey that goes over all the space, environmental...
  4. installing sp300 drivers

I think the last OS they made SP300 drivers for was XP. And probably 32 bit. I don't know if you'll be able to use some compatibility mode or not. You may need to get an older computer to print to that printer. Good Luck
  5. perforated window vinyl printing short

Flexi has this as well In Production Manager, click on the arrow beside the printer on the Blue line and select output size compensation: But I'm guessing that the OMAS is getting fooled by the perforations. 1 inch in 60 is huge. Try disabling that on the printer and see what you get...
  6. Rant Omega 6.5 loosing communication to plotter

The latest Win 10 update has a know bug related to USB drives. I'm wondering if it might be affecting your communications as well???
  7. XC540 Cutting Problems

Your picture shows it connected. When it's cutting, it's not supposed to be connected to the print carriage. If your just getting a message that the carriages are separated, then you probably need to clean the encoder strip. Check this out. Good luck Joe
  8. New print head fitted

Since it comes back with a cleaning, it's not an electrical issue, it's an ink flow issue. Did you replace the dampers when you changed the head? Check the line adapters at the top of the dampers - Or replace the dampers whatever's appropriate. Did you replace the cap top? Is the cap top seated...
  9. SP540 Headstricks with 13oz banner

Set the carriage height to high (the white lever on the left side of the print carriage). Use all your pinch wheels that will fit. Use the roll holders that came with the printer, don't set the banner directly on the bars in back. I generally recommend using about 35c for the print heater...
  10. Need Help VS540i Printing terrible

    yup 4
  11. Need Help VS540i Printing terrible

It only looks like a wiper is missing. Don't worry about it. The one you have is trash though. Your felt looks good, but it's in the wrong position. Your print head is a lost cause though. You'll need a new one and as indicated before, a set of dampers to go with it. Since you're not...
  12. VersaWorks Product Key

It doesn't have one. It's a free RIP (or more accurately an included RIP) that only works with Roland printers and uses a connected printer to activate the software. Does the Onyx offer include trading in Free software? Or just competing software like Flexi or wasatch or others that you pay a...
  13. What equipment can you not live without? When to buy it

You'll have an easier time with a sprocket plotter, but Gerber software should work with both Summa and Graphtec as they both made friction plotters for Gerber at some point and were working with the print/cut workflow. Check to see which drivers you have listed in the "Add Plotter/Router"...
  14. WTB flexisign pro that will use plotter Roland VS-300I

You can still but a perpetual license for Flexi. Find a Flexi dealer in your area - they can set you up.
  15. Color codes given are always conflicting

I'm not one to think of these things at the time, but did you think to ask where he got the other vehicles printed and why he didn't go back there? I bet if you got the story from the other graphics shop, they'd be saying the same thing about him "ya idiot"
  16. Color codes given are always conflicting

RGB and CMYK color specs will vary from device to device, so they are not reliable communications tools for color values. Pantone is a color standard, but intended for offset printing, not CMYK inkjet printing. There are a lot of sign shops that don't fully understand these basic color...
  17. Roland VersaWorks Dual

Usually if you Initialize the software from the start menu, it will do get the same results. Bert's method gave you a new folder location. Initializing the software cleans out any files from the existing folder location.
  18. Help with Summa S140 T set up

You probably need a null modem adapter for the serial cable. Most cables that you buy will not work with plotters. Try something like this: Good Luck.
  19. Flesign Pro 8.1

Or you could print from VersaWorks and use Flexi as your design software and just export as an EPS or PDF then open your file in Versaworks and print from there.
  20. Problem with removing glue from a Graphtec FC8600 or which ever cutter

I've replaced a lot of those. Rather than risk a liquid in the plotter (though there's not much under there that would be damaged from the liquid for the most part) I just rub the adhesive with my thumb and work my way down the strip. It takes a bit of elbow grease, but not a lot of time...
