The problem is that the RIP is interpreting the area of the transparency (typically a rectangular area) differently than the area without the transparency. The Roland ColorRIP is a very old product (around 9 years old at this point) and I tend to doubt that matching the raster and vector...
Roland DG has recently announced their first commercial-grade production flatbed printer, the VersaUV LEJ-640F.

If you configure the device in Onyx Media Manager as an i1 Pro 2, you should have no issues with reading strips. I have done it many times in Onyx 11 on Windows 8.1. Onyx 11 now supports all of the functionality available in the i1 Pro 2, including bi-directional scanning, higher frame rate...
If your i1 device is the new model (i1 Pro 2) then select that in the Onyx measurement device configuration list.
If you have the older model (traditional i1 Pro) then select i1 Strip measurement device in the Onyx device configuration list. Choosing the i1 option means that only spot reads are...
Align your printheads (located in the Ink Menu).
You also seem to have nozzle performance issues as I see banding in the print. Run a nozzle test print (Ink Menu > Image Quality Maintenance > Clean printheads > Test Print). Based on that run cleanings for the affected head(s).
Solvent inks (including eco-solvent) tend to be less than ideal for printing on most fabrics. In order for the ink/ media chemistry to work, the fabric needs to be coated to allow the ink to set. This coating tends to dramatically raise the price of the media, and also often times changes the...
Comparing FlexiPRO to Onyx (btw version 11 is current now and not 10) is a bit of an oranges to apples comparison. FlexiPRO is an integrated design and fabrication tool, where Onyx is strictly a production RIP (no design). If you plan on using Flexi as a design environment, then this integration...
Run cleaning(s) from the front panel (Ink Menu > Image Quality Maintenance > Clean Printhead). If the head cannot be cleared up, replace it with a new one. If < 1000 ml of ink have passed through the head it should be a warranty replacement. More than that amount of ink and you buy the head...
Sounds like a language communications issue. Make sure that the plotter is set to Auto for communications language. I believe that Flexi sends HPGL data, but Auto is a safe choice. If you use Cutting Master 2 or 3 it uses GPGL.
In addition to heat, grainy solids can also be attributable to several other factors:
1. Drop Accuracy - Perform a bi-directional calibration, and slow down the carriage (head) speed. Both of these can serve to improve dot placement accuracy.
2. GCR settings in the Media Profile - For...
Versaworks will run on current 64-bit operating systems (Windows 7 and 8.x). Versaworks includes the printer driver for supported Roland devices, without need for a Windows-based driver.
As others have correctly said, the main thing that is happening is that the heater systems are warming in stages to the temps defined in the RIP (media profile).
The carriage movement is the 'drop detection' system that determines the performance of the 12,000+ nozzles prior to every print. It...
1. Are you using the L26500's on-board spectrophotometer, or an external device?
2. Are you using Onyx's profiling engine or a 3rd-party product for the ICC?
ColorRIP (an OEM of Wasatch SoftRIP) was used by Roland about 10 years ago, and was discontinued when Versaworks was introduced in 2005. Newer tools like perfcut did not exist when ColorRIP was current.
To my knowledge, Versaworks will not drive the SC540, so you would need to update ColorRIP...
