  2. Versacamm-profiled cut speed and pressure

Mediaman, Thanks for the reply but there are 2 points which confuse me. First, "cut pressure is not part of the profile". If I go into Versaworks media explorer and select a profile and then click the "media settings" button it opens up the settings for that profile. If I then click on "cut...
  3. Versacamm-profiled cut speed and pressure

TresL, Yes, that does seem to be what's happening...with the box checked it runs the profile settings and with it unchecked it runs whatever is in the printer. And you are correct that you chage the printer settings from the front panel (using the cut config button) Chopper, Good point about...
  4. Versacamm-profiled cut speed and pressure

Something seems weird about this but maybe it's supposed to work this way. I have the printer set to receive the settings from the computer and it does as long as I check the "Enable Advanced Settings" box. I think it should work without checking that box since the cutting settings are...
  5. Versacamm-profiled cut speed and pressure

Okay...This question is based on an assumption I have so let me get that out of the way first. The printer is an SP-300V and rip is Versaworks. In Versaworks when you select a media type and then go to "cut controls" you can see the cut passes, speed, pressure, and offset information but it is...
  6. VP540- cant read crop marks

Chuck, I can understand the "don't do a new "get media width" part but can you explain why you feel it's best not to center the print on the media? Bill
  7. Cold Feet!

    Ummmm.....what problems?
  8. how to remove a background

Here's the step by step process we use. I don't do it often enough to remember so I made this "cheat sheet": 1-Import into Coreldraw 2-Click "Edit Bitmap" 3-Use magic wand and paintbrush to mask image. 4-Open Object Docker 5-Right click on "Background" and click "Duplicate Selected"...
  9. Anti-aliasing fix for Corel

Justin, Thanks for pointing this out....I've been dealing with the same issue and I was beginning to wonder if it was just me not knowing how to export properly! I've been working around it similarly ot weasel, export from Corel, open in Paint Shop Pro, color offending picels, save from PSP...
  10. Why is corel the underdog?!

While I admit to having no experience with Illustrator I would assume this statement to apply to it as well, is that correct? Or...all other issues aside...is Illustrator that much better at color management for a novice user?
  11. Why is corel the underdog?!

Funny you should mention this Stacy. I have a friend who just recently moved from thermal (Edge) printing to a Roland versacamm. He just told me earlier this week that they were getting Illustrator because "Corel corrupts the color". If they say it enough it must be true, right? Bill
  12. CJ-500 Convert to Solvent ?

  13. Lines in prints again!!!!

I don't know for sure if this would work on your printer but on our dtg printer we use a syringe to gently suck the ink ink into the damper before we install the damper on the print head. Basically we're "precharging" the damper with ink. Put the syringe against the part of the damper that...
  14. New on Signs101

Hey, are many of the snocrossers using the Leatt Brace? And Welcome!
  15. are you solvent printing with an FJ or a CJ?

Darlak, I'd be interested in any information you'd like to share regarding the conversion to ecosolvent process. Is there a kit available or did you source everything yourself? Thanks!
  16. making an outline of an outline draw12

There is also a way to do this using the contour function. The trick is that after creating the contour you must go to "Arrange" and click "break contour group apart". Then when you grab both items (the letter and the contour) they will both scale proportionally.
  17. EDGE contour cut with Roland?

Steve, I'm still not getting the option to send you a PM or e-mail. PM or e-mail me your number and a good time to call you.
  18. Need help with sound issue

Thanks for all the input guys! I did add a sound card and went into the bios and disabled onboard sound. Thought I was all set only to find out that the Intel motherboard used "Intel Sound Studio" which would not work with the Diamond card and was set to not be removable. Argh! After a few...
  19. EDGE contour cut with Roland?

The video is helpful for understanding the basic process but it's a little more complicated when you are printing with a printer that's not driven out of Corel. Steve, I'll send you a PM with my phone number. Give me a call and I'll talk you through it. Bill OopS...I tried to send you a...
  20. EDGE contour cut with Roland?

Steve, If your Roland plotter has the registration mark sensor then it's doable. The thing is you need to include the 3 registration marks (1 cm circles) in your print and that further reduces the usable print width of the edge. If you need more info let me know. Bill
