  1. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

I have a new L365 and had to install buck/boost transformers to meet HP's site prep specs. There is one on each circuit, and they are installed AFTER the breakers, and BEFORE the outlets (see photo). My electrician, though very experienced, had never installed buck/boost transformers before, so...
  2. Need Help DesignJet z6810 printing light band at front head of each print

My Designjet Z6100 has been doing this for a while, though not as dramatically as yours. Mine shows up in light blues and reds mostly, and only happens at the leading edge, before all the nozzles are firing (before the media starts advancing.) As you have discovered, it does not happen with...
  3. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

Probably depends on your supplier. I purchased a Latex 365 in May through Grimco and had to send them photos of the multimeter with the voltage readout for each outlet before they would proceed with the (virtual) installation. Other than the voltage issue, I had zero problems getting mine up...
  4. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

You've complied with HP's specs. It's a new installation, so now it's up to HP and your supplier to resolve the problem. Unfortunately that probably means waiting till Tuesday, but I would email and/or call your supplier now to let them know that you need to be their top priority.
  5. What kind of glue/adhesive do I need

Sounds like 3M VHB tape. (VHB = Very High Bonding I think.) Comes in a variety of types and thicknesses depending on your application. And yes, it is monstrously strong! www.3m.com/3M/en_US/vhb-tapes-us/applications/signage/
  6. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

Marsha & Tony- Has the issue been resolved? Are you up and running?
  7. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

Netsol, I don't disagree with you. I'm certainly no expert. I just don't want to give HP an excuse to not honor their warranty. In the grand scheme, it was simpler (and may end up being cheaper) for me to install the transformers to comply with HP's specs, rather than take a chance on them not...
  8. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

Even if your electrician thinks it's nuts, if you want HP to honor the warranty, the voltage to both printer circuits needs to be under 240v. We had the same high voltage issue before installing our L365 recently. The power company said our voltage was "within tolerance," so it was our problem...
  9. Looking for recommendations: mounting tape, semi-permanant (12mo)

I also recommend 3M Command Strips. Get the large 16-lb strips and put one in each corner. (Maybe overkill for 12" x 18", but that's what I would use.) Easy to work with. I burnish them onto the panel with a wallpaper seam roller. Bonus: they have two parts, stuck together like velcro, so if you...
  10. HP latex reseat cartridge error

We had this problem with our Z6100, which, I believe, has a similar ink delivery system. It would reject cartridges for no apparent reason. For a while, we could replace the rejected cartridges with new ones, and it would work, but the problem got worse and we ended up having to replace the...
  11. HP Latex 365 - voltage too high?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm getting a steady 245 volts, not spikes. Waiting to hear back from the power company as to whether they can adjust the incoming voltage. If not, I will install buck/boost transformers. Looking at Acme Electric T181051 (though I haven't talked to my electrician yet...
  12. HP Latex 365 - voltage too high?

Installing power circuits for a new HP Latex 365. HP specs call for nominal voltage range to be ~200-240 volts. Supplier says "HP does not allow us to install if voltage is over 240." I'm getting 245 volts, which is pretty common. I understand that this is a CYA thing for HP, but I don't want...
  13. Need Help Broken Bag Error 26.02.10

Not sure if this relates since it's a different printer, but we had this error with our HP 60" Designjet Z6100ps in 2012. Really frustrating, since we ended up having to replace the entire Ink Supply Tubes And Trailing Cable Assembly. After a lot of troubleshooting, we found the problem was with...
  14. Anyone else having problems with HP PVC Free Prepasted Wallpaper?

What printer? Does it happen with any other media, or just the wallpaper? We're having this problem with a 60" Designjet Z6100. Cleaning the OMAS and performing Media Advance calibrations no longer help. The machine is over nine years old, so I'm thinking that the pinch feed roller may be...
  15. Vinyl Question

Definitely get a small sample or scrap of the media and find a non-conspicuous place to test it on the wall. Burnish it so that the texture of the sheetrock shows through. I can usually tell within minutes if the vinyl is going to work depending on whether the sheet rock texture stays bumpy, or...
  16. Laser level

I don't know how I installed cut-vinyl lettering without a laser level. If you're working indoors and don't need a very long line, a less expensive one is fine. I use a Tacklife SC-L01 that cost $40 on Amazon. However, there are times that I wish I'd spent more for one with brighter lines. One...
  17. 30 years, never used an external RIP. Now I need one. Help!

I occasionally need to color-match to a paint, fabric, or offset-printed swatch, and have developed, over the years, a pretty streamlined swatching process (starting with a color spectrophotometer). But it's time-consuming and wastes media, so it will be very nice if the RIP makes the process...
  18. 30 years, never used an external RIP. Now I need one. Help!

That's good to know! I had been considering the 560 over the 365 for the spindle-less loading, but with a perpetual RIP license, perhaps the 365 is the one for me. I'm a one-man, low-volume shop, so not having to pay $50 per month (or more) for a RIP license sounds nice!
